Re: Scrivener 1.7.2.3 Linux beta released 22nd July 2014

Installed on Mint-17 Cinnamon 64 without a hitch and as near as i can tell it fixed the 1.7.2.2 issues I was having. It is a joy to use this new Scrivener release. Thank you for not only giving us the new release, but also for quickly giving us the hotfix 1.7.2.3.

Re: Scrivener 1.7.2.2 Linux released 15th July 2014 (LATEST)

In case it is helpful to know: With 64 bit Scrivener on Mint-17 Cinnamon (64 bit) Project Statistics: Crashes Scrivener. Compiling PDF: crashes Export to pdf: crashes RTF compile works fine. Other than this, I am so happy to have this linux release of Scrivener. Even if the above noted issues never ...

Re: Scrivener 1.7.2.2 Linux released 15th July 2014 (LATEST)

Installed without a hitch on my Lenovo Thinkpad T540p running Mint-17 Cinnamon 64. It seems to work perfectly too. I'm really grateful that this is provided to the Linux community. Thanks!

EDIT: Also, I installed it on Mint Debian 64 with Mate. It installed and works great on the Debian too.

Re: Estimated release date for a supported Linux Scrivener?

Middling, you are my hero. This morning when I got up to do my morning work on my manuscript, I was able to use Scrivener again. This was the only program I truly needed to work, to be free of Windows. Now I have it working and I can't thank you enough. Ha. I just finished my morning manuscript work...

Re: Estimated release date for a supported Linux Scrivener?

Mint 17 is a LTS release. I've got Scrivener running on Mint 17, although i haven't really used it much there as my main machine is a Hackintosh with the Mac version. For some reason the graphical package manager crashes when trying to install Scrivener, so you'll need to do it via command line (pr...

Re: Help with Mint Debian 64-bit question

I just read in the post above this one, about how Graybyrd was successful in getting the Windows 1.7.1 to run on Wine. I'm going to try that route instead of trying to load the older version of Scrivener on the Mint Debian. And while I'm at it I'm going to re-install Mint 17. I'm not too keen on the...

This is what I get:

Help with Mint Debian 64-bit question

I used the Mint Debian GDebi package installer to install the deb file on my 64-bit system. I received the message that the software was installed successfully. The program appears in my menu but when I try to click on it nothing happens. When I try to run the program from the command line I get thi...

Re: Estimated release date for a supported Linux Scrivener?

Scrivener 1.7.1 is a major advance and the linux version will be hugely useful. I hope this note is a candle in the darkness. Gray I deeply appreciate your information regarding both Linux and Scrivener 1.7.1 being worth another shot. You convinced me to give Scrivener on Linux another try when 1.7...

Re: 1.7.1 under Wine

*uhuh ... yup* Here's a direct quote from the "About Debian Linux" page: "...compiling programs can be a frustrating experience. You can run into all kinds of errors due to outdated library files, certain assumptions made by the programmer (which don't hold true on your syste...

Re: Which Linux distro do you use for Scrivener?

Not so sad. Refer back to "unsupported" and "experimental" for the Linux version. Also refer to 32-bit vs. 64-bit situation. As noted, this version of Scrivener for Linux (UNSUPPORTED, EXPERIMENTAL) works fine on many distributions with many desktop environments. The latest beta...

Re: Estimated release date for a supported Linux Scrivener?

This morning I began putting my most recent manuscript into LibreOffice to edit :( It's a bummer for sure, but it works, albeit it's a pain compared to working in Scrivener. But it works. I've Googled to find a Linux equivalent of Scrivener and got a number of options, but didn't know if there was a...

Estimated release date for a supported Linux Scrivener?

I love Scrivener and I work on Linux Mint. I'm not a "computer person" so I've struggled with the beta version. I've had it working on Mint 16, but when I upgraded to Mint 17 last week I hosed everything. I ended up having to re-install everything - without Scrivener - because I came to th...

Re: Which Linux distro do you use for Scrivener?

I am working on Linux Mint 16 "Petra" Cinnamon x64 installed on HP Pavilion. Like the last poster, I'm really waiting for an official Linux release. It's a bit disappointing that people can't even get a basic spell checker to work out of the box with the present Linux version of Scrivener....
