Re: Leanpub (again)

The thing about dividing your book into into different markdown files for each chapter is that Leanpub automatically generates different headers and start-of-chapter typography based on these files. It's the same if you have a preface: the pagination is in lower case Roman numerals. You don't have t...

Re: The Scrivener Manual: all made with Scrivener?

This is very welcome news! The Scrivener Manual is quite beautiful and I've peeked under the hood to compare the Scrivener Project with the PDF version of the manual, but found the source files and compile settings a bit beyond my comprehension. And although the more I study them the more clear they...

Re: eSellerate install failed with error: -2003

I certainly don't won't to appear uncivil to the developer of my favorite piece of software (it was not my intention—I was curious to learn the "why" behind it all) and I'm glad I've got this sorted out. The permissions for my ~/Library folder are set to read/write, so perhaps it is, as Ke...

Re: eSellerate install failed with error: -2003

I've just fixed it on my 2nd machine (MacBook Pro). I think the problem—for me at least—was that the instructions neglected to mention that the EWSMac.framework folders (not files) were (might be?) in three places: Macintosh HD/Library/Frameworks; User/Library/Frameworks; and User/Library/Applicatio...

Re: eSellerate install failed with error: -2003

Okay, I've fixed it on one machine (my office iMac). The EWSMac.framework folder was actually in Me/Library/Application Support/eSellerate/[some numbered folder]/EWSMac.framework. I must have missed it the first time. I'm hoping the same will work for my MBP when I get home.

eSellerate install failed with error: -2003

I've used Scrivener for years—starting when it was called Scrivener Gold—and have found it to be incredibly problem-free. I've never had a problem. However, I just updated to 2.4 today and got the "eSellerate install failed with error: -2003" message. Apparently this problem has a history ...

Re: Scrivener Like Project Managers for Latex Papers

There's a program currently in beta called TeXnicle, which presents itself as a project organizer for LaTeX. I've only just started to look at it, but you might see if it's what you're looking for: http://www.bobsoft-mac.de/texnicle/texnicle.html

Re: Simplenote syncs out of order

When I sync a Scrivener project's Draft folder to an external folder, say, the folder for the iPad PlainText app on Dropbox, I'm presented with an option for Scrivener to add a numerical prefix to each file. This is necessary for the 179 text plain text files that result, otherwise they would be in ...

Re: Who are you?

Shortly before this thread ceased to be active, I received a private message asking for details about my attributing the thoughts I mentioned above about the differences between the merely skilled, the talented, and genius (although I didn't use that word explicitly) to Howard Gardner. I looked, but...

Re: Mellel

Mellel is really fantastic. I've a long book in the works with lots of musical examples and Mellel handles everything easily and quickly. I suggest you work through Don Broadribb's Mellel Tutorial for Beginners . He does a great job of introducing the key concepts of Mellel as well as explaining how...

Wow… thank you, Keith! I was hoping it would be something simple like that. (I had forgotten all about "Edit Scrivenings.")

Full screen view of multiple documents?

Hi, I've used Scrivener for several years (since Jan. 2007) and it's been incredibly useful for organizing various writing projects. I don't live in it every day, but have kept it updated (currently at 1.51). I recently started a new project for a paper I have to give at a conference and tried to sc...

Re: Who are you?

George Leonard's Mastery is an excellent book. I've used it for years to help my students learn the type of commitment needed to cultivate mastery or to see why their efforts are not paying off. In an age of immediate gratification and the distrust of experts (see Andrew Keen's The Cult of the Amate...

Re: Buddymap

Hmm… I just added myself to the map and didn't have any problems at all. I currently see five people: Amber Vaesca, Wock, Magnus N, Matt, and myself.

(I've been a long-time Scrivener user and reader of the the L&L forum but only got around to registering for the forum yesterday.)

cheers,
