Re: "Move Focus to Binder" not working consistently

Jiminy Cricket! (originally a euphemism for "Jesus Christ!";you learn something every day.)
I should have thought of that!
An easy, elegant solution to my problem.
Thanks for answering gr.

"Move Focus to Binder" not working consistently

I'm trying to write a Keyboard Maestro macro that, among other things, grabs the link created by "Copy the Document as External Link". Unfortunately, that command is only available if the Binder has the focus for the current document. Adding "Move Focus to Binder" to the macro sc...

PDF Highlights not visible

I'm finding that none of the highlights in my PDFs are visible in the IOS app, regardless of where they were originally made (Highlights, Preview or Mac Scrivener itself). However they are definitely in the file, because if I use "open in Another App" in IOScrivener they are visible in PDF...

Re: Textexpander or alternatives

For what it's worth, I fiddled with this today and though the old version does work for unformatted text, I decided that the built-in IOS "Settings/Keyboards/Text Replacement" feature works well enough for my limited needs.

Re: Make link to data file on ios

only if Dropbox has a URL schema on iOS and handles opening them, and I don't think it does (but could be wrong). You can copy a link to a dropbox file: 1) Select the file in Dropbox 2) Press "Send Link" then "Copy Link" in the Sharing PopUp 3) Select some text in Scrivener (opt...

Re: Is there any way to change default Plain Text font and size?

Devinganger is right, I do understand how plain text works. I was merely trying to find out if there was a preference that allows one to set how it is displayed . Lots of programs do this: TextEdit is the obvious example, but DevonThink, BBEdit, Tinderbox etc. do so as well. If the "bit of code...

Is there any way to change default Plain Text font and size?

I would like to change the default view of plain text files stored in Scrivener to a larger font; is this possible? I understand how to change the RichText defaults in Scrivener, but can't for the life of me find a setting for the *plain* text views of external files. Changing defaults in TextEdit d...

Re: Search for Icons

Sorry to see this wasn't taken seriously. Searching for Icons would be useful, visual (much more so than "Custom Metadata"), flexible (since it's easy to change Icons and their searchable names) and no harder to implement than any other current search for metadata. Yes, it would require a ...

Completely off topic for Star Trek fans: Headline in The Atlantic today: "'Red Shirt' Opposition Leader is Shot in Thailand."
You're really asking for trouble when you call your revolutionary group the "Red Shirts"

Re: Avatar

The (much) better half and I tend to do both. For a really worthwhile movie, we'll turn the lights down settle in and watch it all the way through, no talking, no interruptions. Then a few weeks later we'll run it again and yak, question, pause, rewind and generally mess about. Both experiences are ...

Re: Avatar

I think your Cirque du Soleil analogy is remarkably apt. But nobody expects to get wrapped up in a Cirque du Soleil show. The whole point of the exercise is to just sit up and go "wow" at the spectacle every now and then. For all it's spectacle, Avatar owes its audience a story, characters...

Re: Treme. Maybe the missus has the right idea - the first episode almost turned me off the whole series. I'm glad i stuck with it and it seems to be improving, but there was one scene in the opener where a cliché snooty British TV interviewer essentially tells all 300 pounds of an irate John Goodma...

Re: Avatar

Well I saw it in full 3D in the multimegamovieplex, complete with stale popcorn, huge screen, overcomfy barcalounger, and the requisite 16 year old two rows back who's "explaining" the movie to his girlfriend. The full totally immersive shebang. I was almost never immersed and I even remem...
