Re: Problems With History Export

Presumably, in your history list, the 1000s are followed by a comma, so, as you are using "comma separated values, Excel or whatever reads them as a separate column. I've never used it, but can you set the export and the spreadsheet to use a semicolon or other glyph as a separator? Mark No way...

Problems With History Export

When exporting writing history to a CSV file, some lines have three values on them, some four. My spreadsheet app doesn't like that.

I'm not sure what those numbers are (4?) and the last two lines are problematic.

It’s under Settings: Profile: Edit Signature.

Thanks. I looked here without success:

Can't Scroll to Bottom

Saw this this morning. For some reason I couldn't scroll down far enough to see the last line in a document. It was only when I moved the cursor down there and added text that I could see the final line. I've never seen that happen before. Screen Shot 2019-11-07 at 8.35.04 AM.jpg Version 3.1.4. Can ...

Suggestion: Add Zoom-to-fit button

Scapple has a Reset button for resetting the zoom level in the footer bar. Resetting the zoom isn't very useful, since it sets an arbitrary level which, for me, is always too small. Consider replacing that with a Zoom-to-fit button, or adding a ZTF button (there's lots of room down there). Whenever ...

Re: Handling of Dialogs

I hit another annoying "feature" this morning. I meant to drag the dialog showing my session target to a different location. The title of this dialog, seen above, is "Damaging Evidence," the name of the project, rather than the expected "Project Targets." I happened to ...

Handling of Dialogs

Dialog boxes that Scriv opens, such as the Words Target dialog, the FInd dialog, the Names dialog, and the Image Tools dialog, all act in unexpected and often inconvenient ways. I would prefer that a modeless dialog appear and remain visible until I close it. For example, today I wanted to figure ou...

Re: Major Problem: Copying Text From Word With Changes Implemented

Since I'm not following all the logic here, I'd like to confirm: I compile to a DOCX file, my editor and I make changes using Microsoft Word, I then copy and paste each scene back into Scrivener. With my settings like this: Screen Shot 2019-10-21 at 10.25.00 AM.jpg I should be fine. Right? Thanks!

Re: Major Problem: Copying Text From Word With Changes Implemented

In that case, using the enhanced converters should not be the default. That's what got me into trouble.

Re: Major Problem: Copying Text From Word With Changes Implemented

I did testing, and you were exactly right, GR. Many thanks. So, I have set my preferences like this: Screen Shot 2019-10-20 at 11.05.14 AM.jpg And here's a question and a comment. QUESTION: L&L strongly recommends that use the enhanced converters, but I'm not clear on what kinds of problems I'll...

Re: Editability Not Obvious

Note also that one dialog refers to a "Manuscript Target" but the Options dialog refers to a "Draft Target." I hope that helps you (and users). I would presume that that’s because you’re using a project based on a template like Novel, where the default “Draft” folder is renamed ...

Editability Not Obvious

I wasted some time this morning when I wanted to change the manuscript target. I looked all over, but couldn't find where to set it. Here's why: Screen Shot 2019-10-20 at 7.50.32 AM.jpg There's no indication that you can click on the "60,000" text unless the cursor happens to pass over it....

I hope that when the next MacOS upgrades comes around, you'll have changed things so that we don't have to dig up our old license email. That didn't happen for any of my other apps.

Re: A Note About Upgrading to macOS Catalina

When you say it "asks to be deactivated", what is the precise wording of that message? I'm not familiar with any processes that would ask you to deactivate manually, presumably so you can activate again, because it's not activated but yet you can deactivate it? Seems like you're in a bit ...
