Re: Anyone else having Scrivener problems with Windows 8.1?

Sounds more like Windows problems in Scrivener than Scrivener problems in Windows...

Re: Ugly font rendering on editor. Is there a fix?

Have you checked the fonts after compiling? While you work on a project you can use comic sans in 24 point if you want to - but it won't matter unless you compile it "as is". When I first started using Scrivener I was obsessed with fonts and formatting until I realized that the compiler wi...

Re: Spellchecker language Swedish?

Since a lot of people use Word for formatting etc., as one of the steps before publishing you always have the option of ignoring the spelling whilst in Scrivener and save it until you're done with the first draft (either compiling for word or copy/paste into word).

Hej från Malmö by the way.

Re: Where to input meta-data?

Doesn't the meta-data "stick" regardless what your output is once you've entered it during the compiling? (If you compile for .mobi or .epub (select either in the pull-down menu at the bottom of the compiler window), on the left side of the compiler the last item in the list is Meta-data. ...

Re: Looking for Tips on Moving a Manuscript to Scrivener

In the past I've found that I get inconsistent formatting, indenting etc. when I do this and it takes a while to clean up so I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for moving from Word to Scrivener? Just to clarify; are you talking about the formatting you see right after you have imported the docume...

Re: It seems overwhelming

[bunch of good stuff] I agree with everything Jaysen wrote. I would also say that the hardest thing to do as a beginner when using Scrivener (and I am one - I installed it on December 28) is importing an already existing project. I currently have two projects I'm working on in Scrivener; one that h...

Re: It seems overwhelming

Two ways: ⋅ In the menu, under Documents, there is a merge command for merging two texts into one. ⋅ In the binder, drag the different scenes you want to compile into a chapter into a pile (or a stack if you will). Start with the first scene in the bottom, than drag each subseque...

Re: Total Noob question!

Is there a backup file (in ZIP-format) in the same folder as the one you saved the ".scriv" project to?

Re: Sharing my Name Generator files

I tried importing the lists into my name generator but I've had no luck thus far. I keep getting errors about too many commas. I started out with the windows-specific files (as I should, being on a Win7 platform) but got repeated errors about there being 3 commas to many on each line. So then I figu...

Re: Backup Restore

Though Mr. Guthrie offered a better solution than the one JMW used I would still like to see a "Restore from backup" function in the File menu. It just strikes me as odd that there isn't one. I would also like the restore function to allow the user to chose whether to restore specific file...

I too would like to see back matter, especially since I'm planning to go down the route ringermanson described.

Re: Dropbox and other backup strategies.

If you, as I do, use gmail you already have free access to Google Drive, which gives you 15 GB of free storage. If you decide to pay for extra storage I believe the limit is 2TB at present. Also, if you install the Google Drive Client it will automatically synchronize the files you chose. Of course,...
