Re: Split screen into three or more panes?

Thank you, that also worked for me.

I will take the liberty to bump this thread though, to request it as an official feature. Having a 27" screen, I'd love to be able to split both horizontally and vertically at the same time, effectively providing me with 4 writing windows at the same time. :)

Re: Papers 3 Citations Not Working After Update?

Speaking of Papers 3, Keith have you had any communications with ReadCube regarding support for their application in Scrivener? They are quite tightlipped, so we have no idea what is happening. For those who doesn't know, ReadCube(.com) bought Papers little less than two years ago. They are currentl...

Hard to say if it is a normal size when we don't know anything about your images. But just the fact that you mention "a lot of images", I am quite sure the size is correct.

Same here, haven't had any stability issues so far.

Buuuut.... Everything is so.... Light.. ;) -I quite dig dark mode. I think it will be my main GUI for a while.

Re: MacOS high Sierra 10.13.4

Thanks so much! Eventually 32-bit apps won't run anymore on MacOS (although no one knows when that is going to happen, and most likely Apple will alert with plenty of time). But my point is, since at some point one has to move to a 64-bit version, doing it sooner rather than later is probably best ...

Re: iCloud Sync

There you have it: Dropbox is no longer regarded by mainstream tech publications as a best-of-breed solution in 2018. That doesn't really matter from a developmental point of view, if the majority of users are using that over other synchronization services. Dropbox has half a billion registered use...

Update dialog may be hidden from view

I just fired up a Scrivener document, and just had a brief flash of the update window announcing the 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 update, which was then overlayed with my Scrivener project window. I closed the project window, but the update dialog was then gone - After a short search, it turns out the template ch...

Re: Papers 3 citations working in Scrivener 3?

That’s not at all my experience. I have gotten quick replies to my questions and even got help to create an Apple script for exporting annotations with complete reference. Perhaps I'm a difficult customer then (quite likely). I had half a dozen unresolved tickets in Papers, before ReadCube replaced...

Re: Love Scrivener but worried about Data Loss

Everyday or night, whenever the end of my writing session is, I save my project and compile it, both are saved to the same folder, I then drag them to my Google drive folder and to my thumb drive, and naturally the original files are unmoved, just copied. In under 30 seconds I have 3 copies of my p...

Re: wide margins in editor

Oh I am not disputing the personal aspects, I am only arguing that the *default* setting is too agressive for larger resolutions! After scaling the font size to 18, which actually makes text readeable, you have something that looks like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/i28jnl9iuuxx7mx/scrivener3.jpg?...

Re: wide margins in editor

Thanks, this change from Scrivener 2 was quite annoying. On a 27" screen, you are per default suddenly only using ~40% of the window for actual writing! I would actually consider it a minor bug, since I really can't see anyone actually using the default setting on a larger resolution screen.

devinganger wrote:You can share them, although I would recommend using two different folders if you are going to keep them side by side on the same machine.

The folder in Application Support is generated and used automatically by Scrivener - It is not something an end user can change.

Re: Anything to share about Scrivener 3.0?

As a practical question, will it be possible to migrate preferences from Scriv 2 into Scriv 3? Or is that a ridiculous question, given Scriv 3 is such a significant overhaul ... Most likely, S3 reads the S2 settings, and uses those. I can tell you after S3 is launched.. ;) And in the mean time, I h...

Re: Will I be able run Scrivener 2 and 3 on the same machine?

The two versions use different preferences files so you're not risking anything. But what about the folder in ~/Library/Application Support/? I see that Scrivener 2 just calls it Scrivener, so is it replaced, is there a new folder added called "Scrivener 3" or do they just share that fold...
