Re: For those that use the scrivener 3 beta

I've been wanting to adopt Scrivener as my primary writing tool for years, but have been waiting on one specific feature which I NEED. I need to be able to sort the outline view by modified date. My workflow process depends on looking at the most recent things I've made changes to. Seeing as how thi...

Re: I literally WEPT when I discovered this feature was missing

Sorting in the outliner will be part of the next *major* iteration of Scrivener for Windows, which is planned (but not guaranteed) for some time in 2015. Would it be possible to get a technical explanation as to the obstacles to getting this implemented? It seems like a few days worth of pretty str...

Re: I literally WEPT when I discovered this feature was missing

I saw the newest update to Windows, and was eager, downright excited to see if Outliner had become sortable...

And then horribly let down to see that it wasn't.

Any word on when the NEXT version might be coming out, and whether this feature will be in that one?

Re: I literally WEPT when I discovered this feature was missing

It's hardly useless. Is KB agreeing with Lionside, or disagreeing? Capture.JPG Depends if he's archaic or not, I guess. It seems there is a newer sense of the word which hasn't found its way into the dictionaries yet, meaning, almost, "Not at all," connotating a mocking response to a prev...

Re: Sorting columns in outline view

Thank you very much for your response, once again. You were helpful and informative. If I ever switch over to a Mac, I'll jump right on Scrivener, and I'll keep an eye out for the email alert for the next version. I'm having a look at the "links" list of software right now. I've never seen...

Re: Sorting columns in outline view

Thanks for yoru reply, MM. I honestly didn't mean to be pushy or anything. I thought posting here would be more appropriate, and less obtrusive. I'm honestly interested in what technical limitation prevented it from being implemented, but I totally get that a random noob isn't the guiding source for...

Sorting columns in outline view

I NEED to sort columns in outline view. What's preventing that functionality in the Windows version, and What would it take to get it added? Viewing items by created date and modified is VITALLY important to me.

I literally WEPT when I discovered this feature was missing

I've spent hours trying to figure this out, and eventually made my way to the forum here, and I literally broke down and wept When I found the following on the Differences between Windows and Mac page ⋅ No support for custom outliner columns in the Windows version (that is, custom meta-dat...
