Re: PDF compile

Could you please either attach a sample project showing the issue, or email the project to Mac.support AT literatureandlatte.com? There are no known bugs of this sort, so I'd be grateful if I could test the project so that I can see the bug for myself and find the cause.

Many thanks,
Keith

Re: Styles with bullets

Styles won't apply bullets, but they will remember the bullet style so that if you apply them to a bulleted list they will affect the bullets. So you need to create a bulleted list and apply the style to it.

Re: clean html tags

The styles must be used in the text, then - Scrivener doesn't add <p> or <h...> styles for paragraphs unless they are assigned in the editor or Compile.

Re: How to put a table in the center of the page.

I'm sorry to say that there is no way of doing this. Scrivener uses Apple's implementation of tables for the standard text system, which do not allow for this.

Re: Setting default language to US English

The language setting in your screenshot is only for the UI, which is always US English (there is no UK English localisation for the UI). There is no way to set a particular project to use English spell-checking, I'm afraid, or even to tell Scrivener to use a different language from the system - the ...

Bizarre. Is this in all projects? What happens if you reset the Preferences to the defaults?

Re: Scrivener crashes when I try to use the scratchpad

There is a known bug that seems to b related to the third-party folder observation code we use (this observes the scratch pad folder for any external changes). I have never seen it myself, and it only seems to affect a handful of users, but I have it on my list for an upcoming update to rewrite the ...

Re: Images look faded and have false colors

I can't reproduce this. I just tried copying some text with images from a web page, pasting into Scrivener, then closing and reopening the project, and all was fine. I do need to update this machine to 10.14.2, though (I've been putting it off because I'm on a slow internet connection for a few week...

Re: Typerwriter mode

Are you perhaps using page layout mode in the current project? Typewriter scrolling is not supported in page layout mode.

Re: clean html tags

To get rid of the colour information, you can either simply remove the highlights and text colours from the editor, or you can tick "Remove highlighting" and "Remove text color" in the Compile options (the gear icon in the main Compile window). "heading-1" will be set t...

Re: To do list?

You can do this via the outliner or Inspector, but you cannot have checkboxes in the text itself. What I do for things like this is use a bulleted list and then strike through items that are complete.

Re: Hanging Paragraph Format in Scrivener?

At the most basic level, you can just use Scrivener's ruler to set up a hanging indent (Cmd-R or View > Text Editing > Show Ruler). If you are writing a script, though, I would recommend using the scriptwriting feature. Scrivener also comes with a couple of theatre formats readily available, such as...

The original shortcut is used by Apple.

I don't think it is - at least it's not on my system. Are you sure you don't have another app installed that might be using it, as others suggested?

Re: Reset / restart page numbers for each discrete section

No, I'm afraid not. It's not impossible technically, but there's no setting for anything like this right now. Out of interest, what is this for?
