Re: How to compile a Full indented Outline with text?

1. In Compile, Ctrl-click "Full Indented Outline" and select "Duplicate & Edit Format". 2. In the "Section Layouts" area of the Format editor, tick "Text" for each Section Layout. 3. Optionally override and choose the formatting for the text in the preview...

Re: ios Snapshots

This is definitely the wish list, and we welcome user requests! However, not all wishes will or can be granted. :) In this case SilverDragon's reply was spot-on. It's not possible to bring all macOS features to iOS, because iOS is a very different platform and has a lot less depth (no menus, fewer w...

Re: Scrivener and Word and TOC hyperlinks and PDF conversion, oh my!

Ah, okay, gotcha. And yes, that is a limitation of inspector footnotes at the moment, because of the way they get inserted during Compile.

Re: font size

When you click into text and start typing, the newly-typed text will use the formatting at the place you clicked. So, if you change to Times New Roman in one place but then click somewhere else, if the text at that other location uses Palatino 13, then when you start typing, your text will use Palat...

Re: Creating PDF for Ingram Spark

Thanks to all for the info. I think I'm set now (and I had my first opportunity to use Automator). Glad you got it sorted! Does this mean that you used the instructions in the PDF file that JoRo posted and added the "Create Generic PDFX–3 Document" Quartz filter as an Automator workflow s...

Re: Scrivener and Word and TOC hyperlinks and PDF conversion, oh my!

What’s wrong with the footnotes in the PDF created by Scrivener? I’ve worked pretty hard to make sure footnotes work well in a PDF.

Re: ToC format to top of page

This is done using Section Layouts in Compile. You'll want to make sure your Table of Contents document has a different Section Type set in the Inspector (e.g. a "Table of Contents" type - you can set up Section Types in Project > Project Settings). Then in Compile, you'll want to edit (or...

Re: Word count not the same in Word.docx

Scrivener 3 brought the word count more in line with Word as it now counts hyphenated words as only a single word (previously a hyphenated word would count as two words or more, depending on the number of hyphens). One thing to bear in mind is that when you Compile, titles and other elements may be ...

Re: Creating PDF for Ingram Spark

I've added "Convert to generic PDF/X-3 document" as a "PDF Settings" option for the next update. This just runs the PDF through the save PDF/X-3 Quartz filter that you can choose when exporting from Preview.

Re: Text and highlight colors do not show in Compose Mode

Hi,

This is intentional behaviour, because colours that would work with black text are unlikely to work well with white or light text. So, if Compose Mode uses an override colour for its text, highlights and text colours are also overridden.

Re: Inspector shows incorrect information with Binder focus on enclosing folder

I can't reproduce the problem following these steps, but I think some steps may be missing (for instance, it's not possible to switch to scrivenings mode when the focus is in a child document as in these instructions).

Re: Searching for selected text using DuckDuckGo always searches for "boom"

Thanks - fixed for the next update. (Frankly, I'm just relieved that, of all the stupid test words and phrases I use when testing out feature, it was only "boom" that got left in there. :) )

Re: Filter and view by Labels

You can do both these things, although note that when you do this, you won't be able to move things around in the corkboard since you'll be looking at an arbitrary set of documents and not the subdocuments of any particular folder. Anyway, what you need for this job is Collections. Try this: 1. Use ...

Re: Language settings per project?

Unfortunately there is no way to change the stand macOS spell-checker and dictionary which Scrivener uses to a different language on a per-project basis - I've taken this up with Apple and they have said there is no way of doing it.
