Re: Header/Footer not exporting to Word on Compile

Could you please zip up and send us the project that exhibits the issue (to mac.support AT literatureandlatte.com FAO me)? This indicates an issue in our in-house converters which I would like to fix.

Thanks and all the best,
Keith

Re: Test Scrivener's New .docx Converters

Hi Keith, I am a longtime Scrivener user, who is now writing a scholarly book with it. The book has many equations and symbols, for which I used MathType integrated with Scrivener. But I have encountered a huge problem that I think your new converters could help with (and from reading the forums, I...

Works fine for me. I downloaded and exported your project using my converters in 3.1.3, and I see the exact outline from your screenshot. I've attached the exported Word file.

Re: Converstion to Paddle => Observations <=

Hi, All of those Little Snitch messages were written by us (via the Internet access policy file) so that Little Snitch can report what is going on. It's also covered on our updated privacy page: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/privacy I allowed these connections and everything ran ok. BUT upon re...

Re: Update to 3.1.3 and license server switchover went flawlessly

Glad the transition worked well! So far it seems to be going quite smoothly. We've left the eSellerate frameworks in there for now so that don't have to re-register everyone all at once. All users will be silently activated with Paddle at some point, so that once we have left it a few months it shou...

Re: DOCX converter passes illegal Gremlins

Thanks. For the next update (not today's) I'm stripping out invalid XML characters from text runs which fixes this (and hopefully won't cause any other issues - I cannot find documentation on characters that .docx explicitly considers invalid, but it's an XML file so hopefully this is fine).

Re: iCloud Sync

I do understand users' frustration with Dropbox and the reduction in the number of computers you are allowed. Unfortunately, we have two big issues with iCloud: 1. It's no good for our Windows version. 2. I would have to rewrite Scrivener from the ground up to support it. iCloud *does* support file ...

Moving From eSellerate to Paddle - How it Affects You

Hello all,

With eSellerate (our web store store and serial number provider) closing down, we're moving to Paddle. Here's how that affects our users:

Re: Compiler formats have disappeared

Try selecting different file formats from the top of the Compile window (Plain text, Word etc) - go through each one and see if the formats appear. Formats are tied to particular file types, so it could be that they are just hidden while you have a certain file type selected.

All the best,
Keith

Re: Test Scrivener's New .docx Converters

OK makes sense! Exiftool doesn't show what the JPEG compression is either, and what I gleaned online is this is not part of the JFIF spec to store this info at all. It probably doesn't matter too much anyway as JPEG is lossy, so whenever a 75% JPEG is saved again at 75%, it will always gradually be...

Re: Test Scrivener's New .docx Converters

I don't really understand why Scrivener compresses the linked image but not the embedded one, or why Aspose compresses both, if there is no resizing in the editor and no rescaling in the compiler? I'm not sure why Aspose compresses both - that must be down to Aspose as the same text is passed throu...

Re: Test Scrivener's New .docx Converters

Thanks for the test file. It seems that the difference is down to using a linked image that is then embedded during the Compile process. However, I'm completely baffled as to how it is happening - I think I have to call shenanigans on Word for this one. Word must be examining the images in some odd ...
