Re: Korean text goes tofu while compiling to word on V3.1.1

It seems that the problem lies in the version of Java that is bundled with Scrivener (the file exporters rely on Java). A change in Apple’s security policy means that we cannot bundle an earlier version of Java than Java 10, but Oracle has changed its licence so that we cannot bundle their version; ...

Re: Distributed Preferences

"Theme" in the "Scrivener" menu is a quick way of accessing exactly the same feature via the "Manage..." button of Preferences. "Appearance" does not belong in the Preferences. Other apps that have the ability to switch between dark and light mode often put th...

Re: Underlining Dots are Shifted

There nothing to look into. As I already made clear, I have no access to that code. Moreover I’m not seeeing it. If your text is not at 100%, that could be the trigger. But as I repeat, that code is not something I can change.

Re: Avoiding Orphaned Titles

Keep with Next is exactly what you need for this. Widow and orphan control refers only to keeping the first and last lines of a paragraph together, so won’t affect single-line titles. You don’t need to put the titles on the document though - just use KWN in the section layouts of Compile.

Re: Themes

I'm not sure I follow - I can't reproduce a bug on my end. Here's what I tried: 1. Default settings, light mode. 2. Switch to "Solarized Dark" - the app changes to a dark appearance with custom settings. 3. Switch to "Default" theme - everything returns to normal; that is, the st...

Re: Inconsistent UI for Image vs. Alias

The image tools pane is a global utility panel so it stays open until you close it. In the image you posted, it seems that the editor on the left is showing an image embedded in a file, whereas the editor on the right is showing an actual image document. Perhaps you could post a sample project though.

Re: Mac Mojave update from 3.0 to 3.1

Hi, My sincere apologies for this. Please see here: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=54310 There's a bug in the code related to updating existing preferences for dark mode. I fixed the bug within an hour of it becoming apparent and uploaded it to Apple on Thursday nigh...

Re: Compiling for PDF with Remove Hyperlinks leaves ToC page numbers linked

Everything works fine for me in the project you attached, but the results are different from your PDF. What Compile format are you using? Is it perhaps a custom one that is not part of the project (under "My Formats"), in which case you will need to attach it separately? Is this in Scriven...

Re: Bug in 3.1.1 for MacOS - top margins change randomly when compiling to PDF

Thanks. I've replied via email, but this bug is triggered by widow and orphan control. It's fixed for 3.1.2, but I recommend turning off widow and orphan control in your Compile settings.

All the best,
Keith

Re: Dedication and Acknowledgements not top aligning

Thanks for the sample project. I've found the bug. It's caused by turning on widow or orphan control - the widow and orphan control is wrongly aligning the text area to the bottom of the page when a line is removed from the bottom to avoid widows or orphans. Ironically I missed this because I tested...

Re: How to change Heading background with new dark mode?

You can return to the standard dark mode theme by going to Scrivener > Themes and picking “Default”. That header will remain blue, though, as you cannot change that - just like you cannot change it in light mode. When you have two editors open, the editor with the focus - the one that will be affect...

Re: Bug in 3.1.1 for MacOS - top margins change randomly when compiling to PDF

I vaguely recall that did make a change to fix a bug whereby the top of adjacent pages may not exactly match (I can't find it in my release notes, though). It's possible this has had a knock-on effect in different situations. Is it possible to make a duplicate of your project, strip it down by remov...
