Re: which would be best for Scrivener: a new mac or iPad?

I'm with Lunk, the iOS version just isn't as powerful as the Mac or even Windows version. It's great for editing or some light writing on the go, but if I'm in a situation where I could bring my laptop I'd definitely leave my ipad home.

I went into composition mode and was able to reproduce this bug.

The ultimate release candidate.

But is it a candidate for release, if it's an actual release? :P

Re: using scrivener on several macs

Literature and Latte recommends dropbox as it is the only cloud syncing solution that doesn't foul up the project files. (As per this blog post .) If you chose to use this route, just make sure to close the file, and wait for it to sync before opening it on another device. Most of the issues you see...

Re: Any localised meaning of the word "pal"?

Here in the Western United states it just means friend or buddy. It's not super common. Most folks would say they were spending time with their friends over 'pals', but you'll hear it on occasion. It can be used ironically, but it would generally be accompanied with a more aggressive, confrontationa...

Re: Another vote for the Android version

Just so you have no false hopes. T he Win version is still in development and the 2 developers are likely to be focused on bugs etc for some time after release, so no guarantee the Android version, if it does eventuate, will be any time soon. After the shit-fight in the forums over ‘missed promises...

Re: Download 32-bit or 64-bit Beta?

I never assume a given answer is going to benefit only the person asking it. Takes just a few more seconds to mention and helps people down the road. Win-win! (I've also seen people do some really weird stuff when helping others refurbish older gear. Knew a guy who hated 64-bit Windows because of h...

Certainly since 2008 when the i7 line of processors was first introduced. Which is why I didn't bother mentioning it.

Re: Another vote for the Android version

Good evening everyone. I am trying Scrivener on my Mac and loving it already. I saw there are many requests for an Android version and just would like to cast my vote as well. We like the Mac, but we don't like iOS, we prefer Android for many reasons... And being able to jot down when hit by inspir...

Re: Download 32-bit or 64-bit Beta?

64-bit or 32-bit refers to the processor architecture. Seeings as all i7 processors are 64-bit, it's preferred to run a 64-bit application. 64-bit cpus are backwards compatible, so there's nothing to stop you from using the 32-bit version, but why would you when you're computer is capable of running...

Re: Will Scrivener 1.x be discontinued?

That would be a safe assumption. Historically Literature and Latte have stopped development of prior versions when a new major version is released. They are quite good about providing downloads for legacy Scrivener versions. So if you wish to continue using your 1.X scrivener license on your device ...

Re: Open multiple windows with Scrivener

Unfortunately I can't open the same project twice, just two different ones at the same time. And the "open as" dialogue doesn't have a quick reference option. I work on a windows computer. Am I blind or is there no such option? Thank you! You wanted to open the same project twice? Not pos...

Re: Open multiple windows with Scrivener

For the former method you need only open a second scrivener project and viola you have two projects open in separate windows. This works with the current beta and the current release version (1.9.X). For the latter method, if you want two windows open you can do it from the same project. You need on...
