Re: Searching within collections by keywords, dates, and custom meta-data

I have no plans at the moment to replace Scrivener as an app, but as the pace of development and the community support is so strong, I think there is a possibility that the power of Obsidian might see it take the place of Scrivener in the future, especially as my ADHD mind prefers the WYSIWYM inter...

Re: Searching within collections by keywords, dates, and custom meta-data

Have you tried Obsidian? I found the app after reading about your experiences with Bear. Lots of plugins that bring added functionality... such as iframes inside the app (see the screen grab from Obsidian below), a dataview that lets you search and manipulate data, etc, etc, etc. Can also work in c...

Re: What Happened to My "Indent" Function?

When did you upgrade to Scrivener 3? To Big sur? When was your last upgrade to Big Sur? From the time you upgraded to Scrivener 3, you were vulnerable. Scrivener has always passed shortcuts to MacOS for execution, and having cmd-[ and cmd-] each assigned to two different menu commands meant that Mac...

Re: Zoom on Copyholder?

Is it possible to "zoom" in on text within a copy holder. On the main editor windows, I tend to operate at a zoom magnification of 175%. This allows me to retain 12-point font in files but comfortably see the files. However, the copyholder windows seem to be restricted to 100% magnificati...

Re: Searching within collections by keywords, dates, and custom meta-data

Gentlefolk, as I said, I’m glad to be of service. :D Even I didn't know about the checkbox and date searches before I started, as that's an experiment I ran to be able to answer the questions fully. If there's a wider lesson to be learned here, it's that it seldom hurts to just try something. I keep...

Re: Searching within collections by keywords, dates, and custom meta-data

Yes, it is. You can make the base collection dynamic, but not the subsidiary searches. A pity. With certain searches, I've been able to combine them as a single search and save them. (Example: Turn on both label search and keyword search. Search for both a label and a keyword, using the "all wo...

Re: Searching within collections by keywords, dates, and custom meta-data

To address the original questions in detail: Base step: Click on Collection A in the sidebar. Then click on one of the filenames displayed in the collection. Then use cmd-A to select all the files in the collection. Finally, use Navigate->Reveal in Binder to select the collection's files in the Bind...

Re: Searching within collections by keywords, dates, and custom meta-data

On the contrary, one of the Project Search options is "Search Binder Selection only." To search a collection, I merely display it, select the files within it, then select "Navigate->Reveal in Binder." Now the collection files are selected in the Binder. I then search using Projec...

Re: What Happened to My "Indent" Function?

Can somebody please help me figure out what happened to my ability to indent paragraphs? Instead of indenting, they are deleting. Hopefully the attached screenshot illustrates the dilemma: Screen Shot 2021-04-18 at 11.59.13 AM.png You see a line of text that I want to indent. But when I hit <cmd>+ ...

Re: What Happened to My "Indent" Function?

Interesting... these are the keyboard shortcuts for indents in my menus:

And here are my document history shortcuts:

Are you perhaps using a different keyboard layout or a different version of Scrivener?

Re: *BUG* Project Search Not Working Right

Umm... On Mac, in the project search options menu way down at the bottom, there's a search option called "invert results ". Does Windows Scrivener 3 project search have this option? If so, is it by chance turned on? (I ask only because I reported this very bug on the Mac Scrivener 3 versio...
