Re: Trash, Rename, Split & Compile

A few questions please - ... 3. What are the steps to have two different projects on split screen either side by side or one above the other. All I have been able to manage is have the same project on a split screen. OK, I'm going to assume that you want a split screen that's in full screen mode, b...

Re: Keywords For Multiple Projects

Please avoid Method 1. It messes up the project index (I know, I tried it). Method 2 is the only way to copy that is suggested in the manual.

Hope this helps.

Re: Trash, Rename, Split & Compile

Thanks very much for the responses. Terrible that I'm so in the dark about Scrivener although I've been able to make it work for me, sort of. Nothing about it is intuitive. Anyway, when you I can trash or rename projects in Finder - where? Do I open Scrivener under Applications, or find it elsewher...

Re: Trash, Rename, Split & Compile

  1. Quit Scrivener. Trash the project in Finder.
  2. Quit Scrivener. Rename the project in Finder. If needed, reopen the project in Scrivener and adjust project-level metadata in File->Compile, metadata section.

Hope this helps!

FWIW, the keyboard shortcut for a linebreak in Scrivener is ctrl-retun. Hope this helps.

Re: Composition Mode - Project As Background

Hellooo, I just updated to Scrivener 3 and am loving it so far! But I'm having a bit of trouble with the background for composition mode; I don't want a background, rather I'd just like to see the project itself but faded--so composition mode sits on top of the normal scrivener project if that make...

Re: Access Text files with text editor / Workaraound for using on Android

When I upgraded to Mac Scrivener 3.0, I had to turn off external folder sync and turn it on again, regenerating all the sync files. The old sync files won't work with the new project format.

Re: How do I get rid of this gap?

Hover your mouse pointer exactly over the line under the word "Binder" and drag UP.

Hope this helps!

Re: Synopsis Template

Just create a new, blank document, fill in its synopsis with the prompts you want, and drag it into the templates folder. It's really that simple. If you need more details, look up section 7,5 in the manual.

Hope this helps!

Mac Scrivener can have many projects open in separate windows. Are you asking about iOS Scrivener?

But… the screenshot @DevinGanger posted is from a Windows version. The Mac dialog looks quite different. Are you using the new Windows 3.0 version?

Re: Underscore in header keeps underlining on compile

OK, my bad. I found this obscure note in the manual (well, not obscure since it's in a screaming yellow box, but still...): Using Special Characters Since markup is allowed in these fields, some special punctuation marks set aside for markup cannot ordinarily be used. You can however instruct...

Re: Underscore in header keeps underlining on compile

Huh! That sounds like a Bug. Nasty little one, too. I'd suggest reporting this to L&L directly via the Bug Report link: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/bug-reporting One last thing to try, as a work-around: Pick some weird character (like "§") that you'd never use in your manuscript...

Re: Underscore in header keeps underlining on compile

There are a couple of things to try. Least likely to cause other compile complications: ⋅ Select Menu item Scrivener->Preferences... ⋅ In the Sharing pane, in the Export options, untick "Convert underscores to underlines when converting "Markdown". If you're not us...
