Re: Moving text from one project to another

Mac Scrivener can have many projects open in separate windows. Are you asking about iOS Scrivener?

:D My mother said my middle name was really "stubborn", but "persistent" is much more flattering. You're welcome!

Re: Constant gain session word count

But… the screenshot @DevinGanger posted is from a Windows version. The Mac dialog looks quite different. Are you using the new Windows 3.0 version?

Re: Underscore in header keeps underlining on compile

OK, my bad. I found this obscure note in the manual (well, not obscure since it's in a screaming yellow box, but still...): Using Special Characters Since markup is allowed in these fields, some special punctuation marks set aside for markup cannot ordinarily be used. You can however instruct...

Re: Underscore in header keeps underlining on compile

Huh! That sounds like a Bug. Nasty little one, too. I'd suggest reporting this to L&L directly via the Bug Report link: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/bug-reporting One last thing to try, as a work-around: Pick some weird character (like "§") that you'd never use in your manuscript...

Re: Underscore in header keeps underlining on compile

There are a couple of things to try. Least likely to cause other compile complications: ⋅ Select Menu item Scrivener->Preferences... ⋅ In the Sharing pane, in the Export options, untick "Convert underscores to underlines when converting "Markdown". If you're not us...

Re: Search options no longer appear

I'm using Scrivener 3.2, running Big Sur. The project search function no longer gives any options. There is no dropdown menu for selecting parameters (see screenshot). What obvious thing am I missing? Or, what non-obvious thing must I do to have it work as it should? Thanks! As @kewms said, the men...

Re: Paste and Match Style on iOS Scrivener?

You want the "unstyled paste" option from the normal pop-up copy/paste/etc. menu. Or if you have a keyboard, the same keyboard shortcut as Mac: shift-option-cmd-V.

Hope this helps!

Re: Can't turn off "Do Not Disturb" in Composition Mode

This is the darndest thing. I seldom use Composition Mode, but as far as I can tell, it has no effect on Do Not Disturb whatsoever. I can't wait to find out what's going on.

Re: Scrivener 3 - Word count does not match

I can only tell you what I did. When I switched from Mac Scrivener 2.x.x to 3.0, I found the hyphenation difference (which, BTW, became more in accordance with publishers’ practices), did a compile comparison such as JimRac suggests, found that no words were missing, and shrugged. I like to kill mys...

Re: Seeing diagrams when in Outline mode

Before you give up on the corkboard, please check out Stacked Corkboards on section 8.2.8 in the manual. I find that I can show as many layers in the corkboard as I like with this feature.

Hope this helps!

Re: Justified text

I can't speak to Windows specifically, but the question has come up in Mac Scrivener discussions before. The narrower the column of text, the more this full justification "problem" appears. If you look at columns of *published* justified text you'll see that narrow columns (such as in news...

Re: Scrivener 3 - Word count does not match

If I recall correctly, there was a word count algorithm change between Mac Scrivener 2.x.x and 3.x.x. It had to do with how hypenated words were counted—2.x,x would count hyphenated words as two (or more) words, while 3.x.x would count a hyphenated word as one word. Might this difference also apply ...
