Re: folder-syncing Markdown files: problem with linebreaks

A few notes: ⋅ The Inbox should be outside the Draft folder. ⋅ A new note you create with Obsidian should be created in the external Notes folder in order for it to be put into the inbox and automatically assigned to your Obsidian collection. ⋅ This works best if you ke...

Re: folder-syncing Markdown files: problem with linebreaks

Ok, this is based on my Mac Scrivener experience and the corresponding settings in Windows may be in a slightly different place or missing. You've been warned. :D Mac Scrivener File->Sync->With External Folder... dialog: Untick "Automatically convert plain text paragraph spacing". This can...

Re: Questions about fonts and presets

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately it wasn't that easy. Since the font had been installed using a profile it wouldn't install in Scrivener until me removing that profile, do as you suggested which worked perfectly, and re-install the profile afterwards. Probably because the poor excuse for font ma...

Re: Checking global search and replace occurrences

No, not starting with Project Replace. A better way to do what you'd like is to run a project search so you have a list of the files that contain your target string. Then, select all those files in your search results list so that you create a Scrivening session of all the files that contain your ta...

Re: Search/Find in Comments or Footnotes?

Randall, I massively don't care how you think Scrivener ought to work. I've told you how it works. I'm done.

Re: Search/Find in Comments or Footnotes?

Why would some searches result in a scrollable clickable list of found items, and other search results source you to endlessly hit a "next find" button? Why would some searches be filterable by source container type and others not? Why would the initiation of a search be different in some...

Re: Problems using Scrivener to author blog posts and the like

You seem very focused on copying and pasting. Have you tried exporting your Scrivener doc as either Multimarkdown or HTML (File->Export->Files...), then importing into your blog editor? If you need an intermediate app for some reason, any plain text editor would do. Hope this suggestion proves usefu...

Re: Search/Find in Comments or Footnotes?

Edit->Find->Find by formatting... You can choose Comments and Footnotes from the drop-down menu and put your query in the text box. As for metadata, i can't think of a way, as it's not possible to attach metadata to anything smaller than a document. As the above demonstrates, comments and footnotes...

Re: Search/Find in Comments or Footnotes?

It's in Find by Formatting. As far as I know, since it's not a project search option, it can't be used as the basis for a dynamic collection.

No idea. :? I'm not L&L staff, so not in the loop, and it's not a question I remember seeing on the boards before.

You could always post it in the Wish List...

Re: How to set "automatic reset word count" like in the Windows version?

Yes, it's that limited. If you started your writing for the day on Windows, and your session count was reset, iOS Scrivener will pick that up, but if you start writing on iOS Scrivener you'll need to manually reset.

Re: Export -> Process/Edit -> Import (ideally retaining binder layout and styles)

Ok, here's my experience. I found it easiest by far to just leave my submitted work in Word format while going though the back-and-forth of editor comment rounds. I like Nisus Writer for this process, but YMMV. Word itself would presumably work, I just don't own it. Once we'd beaten it into submissi...

Re: Questions about fonts and presets

Sorry I haven't gotten back to this thread before today, @zikade. In answer to your question, no, there's no way to assign keyboard shortcuts to presets/styles in iOS Scrivener. Nor is there any way to edit them in iOS Scrivener. Regarding the font question, though, I have some better news. There ar...

Re: More formats for External Folder Sync

This is true on iOS as well. I still haven't found an iOS rtf editor that can work in close with Scrivener (external file sync). For the benefit of Android users, I've heard that Android OfficeSuite can do the job. The iOS OfficeSuite version, though, produces rtf files that crash Scrivener & I ...

Re: External Folder Sync brings back files if deleted from Trash before sync

I have to agree with you regarding "Why won't this stuff just DIE?", but this is how it's always worked on Mac. *grumbles* The problem is that the Trash (in Scrivener) folder is not synced as such. Rather, the Trashed Files external folder gets a copy of anything that is either deleted fro...
