Re: Missing "Body" paragraph format preset

Select, and Convert to drfault formatting Sadly, on iOS that's at least three taps, maybe four---select text, tap Paintbrush, if needed tap Styles, tap Formatting Options, and finally tap Use Default Formatting. There's no Binder level command to convert a document(s) to Default Formatting as on th...

Re: iCloud Sync

Okay, I'm the odd person out, here. I loathe iCloud. I hope L&L never eliminate Dropbox support because I'm increasingly frustrated by developers who are moving to iCloud only. I don't pay extra for more iCloud space, and I hope I never have to. Dropbox has always worked well for me with regards...

Re: [Suggestion] Bundle default fonts on all platforms?

Another approach is to acquire a few fonts and install them on all your systems. There are many fonts free for commercial use.

Re: Considering iOS for Scriv. How do YOU use it?

Regarding syncing: it's true that iOS Scrivener has no background sync, but I've set mine up to automatically start the process. There's three settings: Auto-detect changes, Sync projects on close or rename, and Check Dropbox on project open. Turn all three on and you'll only have to remember to go ...

Re: Scrivener Read-Only Mode

The reason given in those other threads is the ability to look at a completed project without disturbing it. I agree it's desirable. Among other things, it might avoid the inevitable sync to iOS whenever I just peek at a project on Mac. I never joined in on those other threads because, well, I knew ...

Scrivener Read-Only Mode

I recall several threads suggesting the ability to make a project read-only, which were rejected as technically infeasible. What about giving Scrivener a read-only mode ? I use two apps regularly which always open in read-only mode, and two or three others which allow the user to switch to read-only...

Re: Considering iOS for Scriv. How do YOU use it?

As I mentioned in another thread, I use iOS Scrivener primarily for actually putting words into a draft (via handwriting keyboard.) For other tasks, such as compilation, I use Scrivener Mac. Not that I don't use my iPad for other things! I put my research, for example, into Evernote and that is more...

Don't forget styles! Styles won't survive the round-trip. And preferences. And section types. I suggest you save each of these to disk for re-application later.

Re: Does Scrivener Support Apple Pencil Writing?

My answer has to be---objectively, no. I ran a series of one-woman tests, once, and the result was that dictation won (120 WPM) , followed by external keyboard (60 WPM), various on-screen keyboards (about 50 WPM), with handwriting dead last (25 WPM). Net after corrections was tighter (much!) but rel...

Re: Suggested spellings no longer function under Mojave

Thank you! For future reference, that's Scrivenings view. IIRC, this is a Mojave bug that ruins the "learn spelling" when a file is too big. Since Scrivenings view presents text to the Mojave speller as one big text lump, this problem is likely to show up if you have many texts in your Scr...

Re: Does Scrivener Support Apple Pencil Writing?

The bad news is that myscript Stylus (the keyboard in that video) has been pulled from the app store. What's left is Mazec keyboard ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mazec/id943711253?mt=8&app=itunes ) and Writepad I ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/writepad-i-handwriting-to-text/id363618389?mt...
