Re: Feedback Wanted: How do you structure your Scriv projects?

ACT (folder)
CHAPTER (folder)
SCENES (text)
Sometimes, I'll add another level and group multiple SCENES inside a folder.
A bit like a SEQUENCE in a SCRIPT.

Re: Chapter numbers

Repositioning a folder just causes a recalculation of the numbers. This has nothing to do with compiled output – it’s simply a visual convenience shown in the binder, nothing more. Does that make sense? Okay, thanks, that wasn’t clear from the first query. In that case the corkboard already does th...

Re: Chapters and scenes numbering

One thing you might consider; if you can view your list of chapters in the corkboard, and split the editor, setting it so the other editor loads the text of the clicked card (which can be in scrivenings mode if the document has sub-documents), then you can enable View->Corkboard Options->Card Numbe...

Re: Chapters and scenes numbering

For me, I always name my chapters and scene documents to do two things: amuse myself, and identify the core of that text's content. You're doing that with "He lives" and "He arises as a zombie overlord". "He dies again" tells me me plenty: He died once before, and so t...

Chapters and scenes numbering

It would be difficult for me to switch from v1 to beta v3 while revising a 600+ pages novel. I mean, I would be really nervous to do so. But if a certain feature exists in v3, I might be tempted. Is there a way to display scene or chapters numbers in the binder? And go to specific scene or chapters,...

Sorry I missed your post.
Here you go:
I am wondering if we can format the "notes" when they are compiled.

Re: Feature Requests / Suggestions

Testing and discovering Scapple these day, making family trees of characters. Love the ease of it. But would love it even more if we add some grid that we can snap to. Because as I add more and more notes in a single pane, it tends to get messy. I also trid to export to OPML to make a more "pre...

[LH2698] BETA 12 - Custom metadata: not able to write a date before 2000, not able to sort date field

Hi. I'll do this in English, but it is not my language so please tell me if I am unclear. One of the main reason I am waiting for Scrivener 3 is the possibility to have a date metadata field, to sort my novel chronologically. Lots of back and forth in my structure, tough to keep the timeline coheren...

Re: Scrivener 3 Windows Release

Happy to see they won't release "buggy" versions. It is the worst kind of strategy, breaking the trust of your customers. The current beta is very very slow and 1.9 is still a very good product. And although some new features of Scrivener 3 would be very helpful for my next writing phase, ...

Small bugs and wishes...

Since you are preparing a big upgrade, I thought about mentioning some small little things that I find annoying, although very far from deal breakers. Just details, really. - In French, inserting the cursor close to an accentuated character seems problematic. The cursor will often appear on another ...

Re: Panic time (and relief, thanks Google Drive)

Hi. Thks for the reply. GoogleDrive seems to have improved a lot in recent months. I am slowly (but surely) switching from Dropbox to GDrive in the other areas of my work. As for my work on Scrivener, I switched this March, without a hiccup since then. I've been working on it most of the days since ...

Panic time (and relief, thanks Google Drive)

Hi... so, a bit of a sweat here. Working on a very, very long project. Something happened during a session with Scrivener today, after a long day of work. Windows 10 Blue screen, restart. Then I could not open Scrivener anymore. A bit upset, I reinstalled the software. Surprise: same results. I swit...

Re: Small bug, compilation

Oh I see what I am doing wrong.
When I compile my manuscript (which I do every day, to get a fresh copy for my main reader), I alt-click to select all texts in the manuscript. And this overturns the setting I put in the properties of my documents.

Small bug, compilation

I think I found a small bug. There is this text I have somewhere in the manuscript, that is a kind of series of notes to myself, tio prepare for the next chapter. It is not meant to be read by my readers. So I unchecked the "Inclure dans la compilation" checkbox. But it seems each time I r...
