Re: Keywords in iOS version

+1 For this feature if possible. I use keywords for all manner of things I'm tracking while writing. It'd be really useful to have access to this when working on the iPad. I end up taking screen-shots and having these in photo's on the pad. But then I can't add to them until I get back to the MacBoo...

Re: Dragon on Scrivener 3 has gone haywire.

I used Dragon a lot on my last book. But found the random characters more than a little frustrating back then! I have, however, found Apple's dictation works quite well if you use it in enhanced mode. It learns too, and becomes increasingly accurate over time. Perhaps worth giving it another try?

Re: Fixed Indenting? (bad)

Styles will do this for you. Set a style for the dialogue, set the next style to 'none' or whatever else you prefer.

You can then set up a hot-key for switching to dialogue, then when you hit return at the end of the line, it will revert to the normal text.

Re: Spinning wheel of death during PDF compile ... Style gets the bullet

Sure - see the attached. Try changing the last item ("Does it work?") to a bullet style. Click outside of it and Scrivener hangs.

Re: Spinning wheel of death during PDF compile ... Style gets the bullet

This appears to affect both bulleted lists and numbered lists. I have to make sure that I insert a paragraph after every list to prevent Scrivener hanging when compiling.

Table of Contents - suggestion

The only thing I hate about Scrivener is ... The table of contents - and for one reason, I can't format the entire table easily. Can I suggest that instead of setting the left-hand margin to give the indented ToC, you insert tabs instead? That would allow us to simply set up a style in the compile o...

Spinning wheel of death during PDF compile ... Style gets the bullet

I couldn't resist doing a "Daily Mail" title, sorry. I have a document that caused Scrivener to hang during compilation. After a process of elimination, I finally worked out which document caused it to hang. Symptom: Compile hangs - spinning wheel of death appears. The only option being to...

Re: Smart quotes fail on Amazon look-inside

Finally! about 10 minutes ago, we got this issue resolved. So - the Sigil method to insert the UTF-8 tag in the header is definitely the key. With that in place, I managed to get files refreshed and Amazon previews and the main book all render correctly. For anyone publishing through the likes of I...

Re: Smart quotes fail on Amazon look-inside

I haven't ignored you folks, I just haven't had an update ... After giving a couple of days for Ingram's HTML escaped version to propagate through the various systems, nothing changed. So I uploaded a version of the text per our Sigil/discussion above - that went through to their platform last Thurs...

Re: Smart quotes fail on Amazon look-inside

Yep, sorry - the Scrivener option for HTML cover page ... one day I'll write proper England like what I was learned at schools. Nearly good news. Oh, wait! It's still screwed. But I'm hoping that's just waiting for Amazon to deploy the new version. So, Ingram has uploaded a new version and sent me a...

Re: Smart quotes fail on Amazon look-inside

Thanks lots. So my journey here has been less than seamless, but I think we're getting things resolved now. IngramSpark in the UK bounce everything over to the US, the US refuse to deal with me in the UK as the local office here should deal with it. This takes an age to get anything done (7-hour tim...

Re: Conversion problems from ePub3 to Mobi on Kindle Touch (4th gen)

Thanks for the replies - really useful. In my case, I didn’t have the option to go Mobi or ePub - I can only provide Ingram with the ePub format as their upload portal rejects anything else. In the interim (as the book’s live), is it just a case of unzipping, adding the encoding declaration and then...

Thanks - I'd never heard of Sigil - I'll have a look at that. Perhaps it might resolve my issue too :?
