Re: Unable to launch Scrivener on Linux Ubuntu Studio 16.10 64 bit

I had a similar experience on Xubuntu & Ubuntu MATE 18.04 but managed to find the missing libraries which I have saved to my PC. It just struck me that packaging up Scrivener as a snap or flatpak package might be the answer to missing dependencies. Is there anyone clever enough to know how to do...

Re: Grey screen, won't let me edit/write

This has happened to me several times too. I did something similar to fix it.
Rather than reset to defaults I saved my own preference settings to a file. Whenever the problem occurs, I load that file. It's a pain though.

Re: Why Windows?

Okay.. first preference here is to stick with Scrivener for Linux and a light-weight stable Linux distro, good for several years. Install on an older computer. Rip out the internet connect. Dedicate the box to writing & file collections. Thumb drive the stuff out for further disposition. The Li...

Re: Linux 1.9.01 Beta

A massive thanks from me too for this new Linux beta. I have mixed feelings as well. I would have loved a native Linux version in the future as part of my mission to be free of Windows forever. Oh well.

It's really generous to remove the expiry too. I do appreciate it.

Bless you.

Re: Estimated release date for a supported Linux Scrivener?

I just wanted to add my thoughts to those of Graybyrd. I tried Mint Debian edition when it was first released and loved the idea of a "rolling release". In reality it was a total nightmare for me. Twice when there was a major update my system ended up being trashed and I had to rebuild fro...

Different versions showing in About Scrivener

Hi,

My Windows desktop PC upgraded to version 1.6.2 (released on 31th October - yes, it really said that  ) last night. This morning I fired up my laptop and that upgraded to 1.6.1. Any idea why that would be the case?

Re: Which Linux distro do you use for Scrivener?

I use Linux Mint 13 (Maya). Using Remastersys, I have created a live DVD based on Mint 13 that is packed full of free software for writers and publishers. Naturally, Scrivener is on there - David from L&L said I can I include the Linux beta. As well as that there is Celtx and Trelby for scriptwr...
