I followed all of the steps and it did not work. Nothing changed except my upgrade to Scriv 3. All backups still point to the correct Dropbox/apps/scrivener folder on both the Mac and IOS iPad. When that was not working by default, I did the steps of unlinking and relinking dropbox. For some reason,...
I am not a rookie, but I sure made a rookie blunder. I did not see the list of sub-folders until scrolling in the compile window. That was my first mistake. The second was that my files were at the lowest sub-level, which I didn't see because I didn't scroll to the bottom of the compile. When I clic...
The screenshot in my original post I thought covered all possible folders, files and sub-files. But I see what you are talking about. When I click on the second and third tiers, it does not highlight in the binder. My chapters were set as folders and each file inside the folder was created by clicki...
No files are set to override as "compile is." All folders and displayed sub folders are set to show the title and text, yet that is not how it is compiling. I'm going to convert everything to folders and see if that helps.
Any idea what is wrong with my compile settings? I want the title to display for the chapter and for the folders within the chapter folders. Instead, the separator # marks the change of each scene instead of displaying the title. As you can see in the screenshot, I have selected the title to show in...
Thank you. Still skittish about deleting since I have reached the final day of my first draft of 100,000 words. It figures something like this would show up on the final day of writing.
Before I delete, is there a chance this file is needed for synching?
So two of us have been hacked in three years in exactly the same way? I don't even know how to package files into an executable. No, the text .scriv appears to have been added to the end of the folder name according to the screenshot, which makes Finder think that the whole folder is a single Scriv...
That case was easily resolved in the same way, but the fact that we have just seen two cases of this means someone probably needs to figure out what could induce it. And I would encourage anyone experiencing this kind of problem to contact tech support so that we can work through the issue in more ...
During a routine synch of only one mac project, all project files have been wiped clean from ios. What are my next steps. Not a thing changed with file locations, dropbox, etc. Problem resolved quickly by tech support Amber. Many thanks. Here is the link to details and solution: http://www.literatu...
Glad things worked out. But somewhere in this exchange it came to light that you had for the first time recently shared Dropbox access to at least one Scriv project (if not your whole Dropbox Scriv folder) with someone else. Off hand, that would be your odds-on candidate explanation for the mysteri...
I am on a Mac and have Time Machine. It was more important for me to figure out what happened to avoid, if possible, the complete corruption or disappearance of everything related to the dropbox synch. I agree with you on the backups. What saved me was where Scriv automatically backs up. I have neve...
Thank you, Amber. It worked, but it's the oddest corruption or conflict I've experienced. Here's what I did: 1. Right-clicked the scrivener.scriv file that was not created or named by me, but was stored in the dropbox/scrivener/app folder. 2. Copy every single one of my projects into the dropbox/scr...
