Re: Scrivener 1.1 immediately crashes on opening an existing Dropbox project

OK I figured this out myself! I knew that Dropbox support had changed. I've seen messages on other iOS apps about them not working after the end of June 2017 because the Dropbox API is changing. Anyway, I thought maybe I should unlink and relink my Dropbox account. This is not intuitive (to me at le...

Re: Scrivener 1.1 immediately crashes on opening an existing Dropbox project

Found it under Analytics. Here's the latest Scrivener log: {"app_name":"Scrivener","timestamp":"2017-06-14 17:08:41.83 -0400","app_version":"1.1","slice_uuid":"e1dbe20e-ac64-3666-a30a-da36665ac68a","adam_id":97...

Re: Scrivener 1.1 immediately crashes on opening an existing Dropbox project

OK, I tried every other project I had - 8 in total - and it crashes on every one. Tutorial works fine.

I don't see "Diagnostics" in the Privacy settings. I've attached a screen shot of the Privacy pane.

[SOLVED] Scrivener 1.1 immediately crashes on opening an existing Dropbox project

I've been using multiple projects on Scrivener for Mac and iOS (1.0) for quite some time with no problems. Just installed the Scrivener 1.1 for iOS update and now when I open my current project it crashes, i.e. it disappears and I go back to the prior screen/app used. This is on the iPad Pro...

Re: Scrivener on Linux via Crossover Office 15, working great!

I wouldn't exactly call Crossover Office software-as-a-service. It does not stop working once your support period runs out, like SaaS. There is no need to upgrade unless you upgrade your operating system and/or the Windows software Crossover supports. I have often gone a year or two, or more, betwee...

Re: Moving a file back and forth between Linux and Mac?

I've been doing this as well, between Scrivener on Mac and Scrivener on Windows and Scrivener on Linux, for several years. I keep the documents in Dropbox. I do not use the "sync" feature of Scrivener. I just did it this morning. I worked on a project on Scrivener on Linux (using Crossover...

Scrivener on Linux via Crossover Office 15, working great!

Just a note to say I just revisited Scrivener on Linux, by installing the latest Codeweavers Crossover Office 15 for Linux. I was amazed how well it installed (this is on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS) and works really well so far. I recently bought an old Lenovo Thinkpad T500 and installed Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on i...

Re: Anyone using WinScriv under WINE …

OK, that makes sense. I did not realize the two versions handled character sets differently, but that isn't surprising, since they have to live in the environment where they are run. Good luck

Re: Anyone using WinScriv under WINE …

I'm not understanding why you'd want to run the Windows version of Scrivener under WINE (Crossover) on a Mac. Why not just use the native Mac version? Anyway, I haven't done that exact thing. But I did try the latest Crossover on my Linux Chromebook, and installed Scrivener for Windows on it. It did...

Druid, Sorry, I didn't see your post until now. Maybe I can turn on email notifications somewhere in the forum? Anyway, here is the official guide from Jeff, who runs the Bodhi Linux project: http://jeffhoogland.blogspot.com/2014/01/howto-bodhi-linux-on-acer-c720.html I've been very happy with mine....

Re: Which Linux distro do you use for Scrivener?

I'm using Bodhi Linux 2.50 (Ubuntu 12.04) on an Acer C720 Chromebook (I erased ChromeOS and installed Bodhi instead, far more capable) using the latest Scrivener for Linux beta. This Acer has a dual-core Celeron CPU, which is not too bad, certainly gets the job done for general computing and even vi...

Re: ARM Chromebook

I don't believe you're going to get anywhere with that. The ARM processor is not compatible with x86 programs like Scrivener. Ubuntu will work, because it was recompiled for the ARM processor, but no such luck with third-party apps like Scrivener. I'm on my second Chromebook, this one is an Acer C72...

Re: Should I change from OneNote to EverNote

Not sure what message or why you're seeing it. But OneNote is free for everyone now:

I'm using it on Mac, Android, Linux (Chrome browser plugin) and ... Windows.

Re: Scrivener 1.7.2.3 Linux beta released 22nd July 2014

I just wanted to say "thank you" for the Linux port of Scrivener. This is my first chance to try the beta since I heard of it. I use Scrivener on my Mac at my home office, but wanted to use it on my Linux laptop (Chromebook with Ubuntu) when I'm at coffee shops. For some reason I thought t...

Re: Compile for Kindle? Help!

There is a much easier way to get your .mobi file to your Kindle... without digging out cables. ONE TIME go to Amazon.com and get to Manage Your Kindle. Look on the Devices tab/section. Find your Kindle (I have one plus multiple phones/tablets with the Kindle app) and click it. you will see a...
