Re: The Great Big Scrivener Survey

I’m so confused about why some people are lecturing on the finer points of the meaning of “wrong”. Maybe it’s a way to deal with writer’s block? Anyway Keith, the survey seemed just about “the opposite of left” to me. It was non-wrong in the colloquial sense, but subjectively speaking, I’d have used...

Re: Open a Scrivener scene in other text editor

Ok thanks, I thought we weren't supposed to use sync with external folder if I was using the new Dropbox sync.

Open a Scrivener scene in other text editor

I forget how to open a single file/scene in another text editor. I'm using iOS and Mac, so my projects are all in Dropbox. There used to be a way I could edit scenes one by one in another text editor... Anyone know how to do this? Example - in my Scrivener project named Grushenka, I could use iA Wri...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

So great to hear about the progress of the iOS version. I thought that since the developer diary wasn't updated since the summer that things weren't coming along. I was still going to buy it when it came out, of course. This news is welcome and I hope it will be a financial boon to L&L as well a...

Keep up the good work (please/thank you)

Scrivener makers, I love Scriv and just read your blog post re: iOS version taking a while. That's cool - I'm sure it will be worth the wait! Scriv is the best app and writing tool I've ever used, so a two year wait is nothing. Please keep it coming. (I couldn't post this in the blog section so here...

Re: Longer Dashes

Thanks for the tips - I am still having trouble though. I tried the method mentioned above with Scrivener Edit menu and pasting the Horizontal Bar into Text under System Preferences. Now I've used TextExpander and use the keystrokes ; - to inert the Horizontal Bar I copied from the Scrivener Edit me...

Re: What fonts do you use?

I use Nitti Light, Light Italic, Medium, and Medium Italic. Love them, but I find the bold too dark, so the Medium is what I use for bold. only problem with this set up is that Command-B doesn't work. I can't get over how awesome Nitti Light is for my use. Here's how I have my full screen set up in ...

Re: External Folder Syncing - with I lose my RTF formatting?

That's the answer - I tinker around a lot on mobile, and do embolden things etc. for my own purposes and thus notice formatting loss. Glad to have this figured out. Its not a big deal anyways, but if there was a work around I was game. I assume iOS Scriv will try to mitigate this by enabling rtf, so...

Re: External Folder Syncing - with I lose my RTF formatting?

Ok, thanks. Not sure what I've been doing wrong so far re formatting then since I assume WriteRoom is a good app to use re: parsing and Scriv files. Can anyone recommend an iPhone app that they've found works well to sync to external folder/Dropbox and Scrivener? Is WriteRoom good? IA Writer? PlainT...

External Folder Syncing - with I lose my RTF formatting?

I am trying to sync a project via dropbox to my iPhone. I have used this feature in the past but have used WriteRoom which I think is plain text only. I lost the formatting after a while in the documents in my Scrivener Binder after syncing back and forth - is this because I was syncing between Scri...

Re: More news and info about iOS version

It must be a blessing to have created such amazing software (not saying this lightly, because its invaluable to me) and a curse to be the one to field questions about when the next version will come out. Its so good, having it be portable and reliable and safe makes people a bit nutty with anticipat...

Re: Better User Interface

That's a cool look you did there. I can't figure out how to change my set up to look like that. Is there a video that would show me how? A forum post that details it? Also, how hard is it to change back to the default when working on another project? For the most part these are default colours. The...

Re: Novel Outlining Template

This is a great template for me as I explore Scrivener and try to organize my writing.

I learned a lot about the technical aspects of writing/structuring, but also a lot about Scrivener itself. Thanks for you time and willingness to share!
