Re: Changing the color of connection lines?

Just adding a vote for colored lines. It's about the only thing I can think of that I'd love for Scapple to add. I love the flexibility, and the simplicity. But some maps can get a bit complicated and being able to categorize by line color would help keep things visually simple. An extension of note...

Website/Forum for Research

Hi, sorry this is not a program question, but I've exhausted other options and am desperate. I cannot find this amazing website and am hoping a writer here is familiar. There's a website/forum (not reddit) where you can ask other writers--or maybe it was anybody--about basically anything that had to...

Re: Feedback Wanted: How do you structure your Scriv projects?

Is this ([[) (]]) feature available in the windows version? I don't really see it anywhere, but am already a little obsessed with its potential.

Thanks.

Re: Stupid mistake the program let me do.

I second the "undo" option for moving/dropping folders. Sometimes I have a little slip of the mouse (touchpad) and drop files into unknown folders. Then I have to hunt for them in subfolders. This can be cumbersome when you have a lot of folders...

Re: Panic: New Text Files Automatically Filled w/Deleted Text

Have any of you had Scrivener duplicate your files randomly? This happened to me, Scrivener duplicated every file in my project. I tried to create a new project and when I created new files, they would come populated with text from files in the duplicated project. I know your issue isn't exactly the...

Re: Using Metadata, Keywords etc for Tracking

Thank you both. These exactly the kind of ideas I'm on the lookout for. I got a little "my preciousssss" excited reading about the keywords. Great pointers there on how to use them in very specific ways. I hear you on the time warp thing. On the flip-side, my novel is already written, mmmm...

Re: Using Metadata, Keywords etc for Tracking

Problem: I'd like to view only the documents where a particular subplot appears, in Outliner. Possible solution: Let's say my subplot involves Donnie and Marie. I create keyword Donny&Marie. Apply keyword to relevant documents. Do search for keyword: Donnie&Marie. Save Search in Collections....

Re: Scrivener has created a weird duplicate of my project?

Anyone know if there's been any progress on this issue and what might be causing it? (I saw some users might have sent their Project in to be examined). This has happened to me twice. Judging from the forum, it seems to be a fairly recent issue? The first time this happened I restored a backup, move...

Using Metadata, Keywords etc for Tracking

I've been sleuthing comments but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. ANY and ALL ideas, or info on how you use Scrivener are more than welcome. Really, anything! In brainstorming mode. Like many others I am trying to figure out the best way to track things; here are some of my ideas, plus qu...

Scrivener Duplicates Folders (AGAIN).

Scrivener is now making my writing life much, much harder. So much so, I am seriously thinking of abandoning it. It's like my project is somehow corrupted. This weird duplicate behavior happened a few weeks ago: suddenly there are copies of all the documents in my project. I've been using documents ...

Re: Weird Duplicate behavior with OneDrive/Dropbox

Yes good point Hugh. In fact, I think I made a hasty judgment blaming it on the OneDrive. I just recently started working off of the OneDrive (as opposed to storing the project on the PC and opening it from there; I'm a terribly inconsistent backer upper). Since this duplication has never happened b...

Re: Weird Duplicate behavior with OneDrive/Dropbox

Thank you for the input stho. I've been poking around the files and, weirdly, don't see any duplicates. The only "duplicates" are "namefile" and "namefile_notes", and the latter literally is the document note. So far, here's what I've done: Made copies from backup files...

Re: Weird Duplicate behavior with OneDrive/Dropbox

When looking at the dates of backup files it shows 192 files that having been created/worked on (saved) in the last week or so (which seems reasonable under normal circumstances). If the whole project had been duplicated, wouldn't I see a huge pile of files in this category (created/worked on/saved)?

Weird Duplicate behavior with OneDrive/Dropbox

I just noticed that Scrivener seems to have duplicated all my files & folders in my project. I'm not sure when this happened since the "new" files/folders were appended at the bottom of the Binder. I'm outlining and started realizing that info I'd put in a folder seemed to be gone. I t...

Polling for New Features?

I saw in the list that compares windows and mac features that it's not clear when new features for windows will be rolled out or in what order. Any way you could do a poll in the forums here to see which feature most people want? (or do you already know?). Personally, I"m throwing all my weight...
