Re: Automatic Backup: similar to auto-save.

For those on MacOS there is an amazing back up function built in - TimeMachine. For Win there are apparently a number of decent free options though difficult to beat one baked into the OS as with Mac. As previously stated, why duplicate options already out there that as a side benefit protect all yo...

Re: Please re-ignite Scrivener for Linux

All this doesn’t change the fact the original and subsequent posts have wildly unsupportable statements, at least in Apple’s case, or the poor commercial viability of the Linux market in general.

On that note I’ll step out of this discussion.

Re: Please re-ignite Scrivener for Linux

To be specific, for Chinese customers iCloud storage was moved to China. This is a condition of doing business there. There are supposed safeguards in place, but... It certainly doesn't put them even close to 'crimes against privacy and freedom of speech'. I know in a utopian world they would simply...

Re: Please re-ignite Scrivener for Linux

While I agree there may be some companies who play loose with our privacy, Apple is most certainly not one of them. They have extensive privacy provisions in place and a significant part of their training is focused on customer privacy. Internal breaches of even minor level are handled very firmly. ...

Re: Three writing panes or at least a resize option for copyholders

With all due respect, Keith doesn’t have to ‘explain his refusal’. He’s said he looked at it and the current implementation is the result. As Keith has said many times, this is a wishes boards, but not all wishes come true. It’s not a popularity poll where the most requested come true, or where the ...

Re: Scrivener for Chromebook

That might be a question best posted on a Crossover support forum as neither it, nor Android are supported by L&L

Re: Why the Android Version of Scrivener is Arguably the Most Important Version (and Why it's Number 1 on My Wish List)

Devin, I agree with most of what you say, and certainly Android/Chromebook Scrivener being more akin to iOS Scrivener than the Win/Mac versions, but who knows what miracles team L&L will achieve. Having been in systems since the IBM Series 1 days and PC’s since CP/M plus worked at several OEM an...

Re: Why the Android Version of Scrivener is Arguably the Most Important Version (and Why it's Number 1 on My Wish List)

While I have no doubt a great number of people will look forward to Scrivener on Android. I do have to take issue with a number of points.. Firstly, Android apps that work on those Chrome devices that support them currently not all but eventually perhaps, from my own testing are a mixed bag. They ar...

Which is why I stated you wouldn’t run Scrivener on them, the point was core is the same.

IOS vs Android would be a more apt comparison with petrol vs diesel. :D

Re: Share files between mac ios to windows 10

Actually TVOS and watch OS are variants of iOS as is the software that runs the touchbar on the MacBook Pro not that you could run Scrivener on any of those :D

Re: Dual Dialogue

Keith has made it clear that incorporating dual dialog is beyond resources and scope but then he sometimes surprises by finding neat additional features he can slip in even after saying he can’t - surprise and delight? I notice a number of people talking about Final Draft, though when I last looked ...

Re: Dark mode for macOS Mojave

Thanks Keith. Didn’t think to look at the blog.

Enjoying the iOS and macOS betas, obviously in parallel to current public version.

Mojave in dark mode is the ‘ducks’ and 12 does seem to bring some older kit back up to speed in performance as promised in the keynote.
