Re: Dark Mode for Windows

Not wishing to get into a pointless fight however. I am all for free speech, but also believe in polite and respectful speech, which costs nothing. While it would be easy to do, I shall not descend to any level of childish insults, and will respect the very reasonable rules of thus forum. A minor po...

Re: Dark Mode for Windows

I can't use this shit , as mentioned in previous response, the Win V3 beta addresses your particular ‘issue’, meanwhile, most of us are quite happy with ‘this shit’ and use it productively day to day. Not claiming to speak for L&L, but personally feel a more polite and respectful post gets more...

Re: iCloud Sync

Just a reminder. If you already have more than 3 devices linked to your Dropbox account nothing changes as long as you don’t wish to change any or add any more. I am a little annoyed as I have 5 devices and typically upgrade the iOS ones each year. Win and Mac computers every 3-5 years. Was thinking...

my win because they are better in-every-way .. I think what you mean is you prefer Win, just as many prefer Mac. I have machines running Win 7, 10 and Mac and will say I prefer Mac. It suits me better, but apart from the lower tco of Mac (per IBM) and my preference for the stability and ease of use...

You mention you ‘moved’ the projects to a different folder. How did you do the move?

Re: Request for Android version

There have been numerous threads on this subject. A search on Android Version in Wish Lists will bring up 14 pages. Short story, at last discussion it was on the to do list after the Win V3 version is released. Based on the current Win 3 beta status I’d guess next year if you’re lucky it L&L may...

You’re only stuck with $120 if you want to add devices additional to those already connected.

Re: Yet another dropbox issue (read all guidance, but unresolved)

I'm not aware of any way the Dropbox synch could do that short of a user error.

As asked above, have you checked ZIP backup files? You DO backup?

Re: Scrivener for iPhone & iPad mini - Questions

There are several users are facing these kinds of issues as they may not handle the iPad in an appropriate manner. They can take any advice suggested by iTunes error 3194 that will be beneficial for them to overcome their issues. Hmm, private company suggesting you call them (and pay?) for support ...

So a ‘benevolent dictatorship’? I’m fine with that. ;)

Re: Web Based Version

Yes, given sufficient time, resource and $$$$$ MOST things are possible, however L&L are a small company with 1 (Keith) iOS and Mac developer and a couple/few totally tied up on the Win version so their ability to throw obscene piles of money and resources at an effort to achieve an online versi...

Re: iPad mini advice needed

I use a 12.9 Pro V3 as primary iOS device for writing, however find Scrivener works just fine on iPad Mini 1, though just a tad slow.

The Mini 1 is an old piece of kit that I keep around because there’s nothing better to do with it. It can’t run the current iOS but still plenty of apps that work.

Re: How to structure the writing of a three-book set with similar content?

This post by Ioa in a previous thread may have some useful links for you to check. ‘There wouldn’t really be much for the documentation to cover, since all of this would be more of a personal convention that you develop in your project. There isn’t a universal “right way” to work on multiple volumes...

Re: Learn Spelling - project oriented dictionary

There have been previous requests for per project dictionaries/spelling and the L&L team have advised is not feasible.

Anything you came up with would need to be outside of Scrivener, such as manually selecting a custom dictionary.

Re: Add a Basic Macro Capability

No vote system, because as Keith has said, development decisions aren’t made based on a popularity system. It’s his company and his process. If Keith and team feel a suggestion fits their vision for Scrivener it may be included. Given their limited resources - 1 man for iOS who is also chief Mac dev...
