Using Version: 1.9.7.0 .

Buying from App Store

I originally bought Scrivener from the App store in 2012. Certainly, when I purchased there was no information warning about updates. However, as Scrivener does minor updates - app store purchasers don't get them. How can that be right? It's all very well, now informing people like myself of the 'po...

Re: TOC - how to produce one?

Hi,

Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated. The image below shows what is produced following the method described above:

Pretty poor - what are all the '?' marks about. This is far too clunky to be useful. Pity.

TOC - how to produce one?

Hi all, I'm struggling with getting a TOC when compiling (in this instance - mobi). I have the following compile settings: Screen Shot 2016-07-14 at 14.05.01.png Screen Shot 2016-07-14 at 14.05.35.png No table of contents. I would expect to see the chapters and their subsections. Am I missing someth...

Re: How to move around an outline

Hi rdale, Thanks for your reply. I select the containing folder (I assume this is what you mean by parent) - nothing is shown. Please see below: Screen Shot 2016-07-13 at 13.41.28.png I think, I just must be missing something but, surely selecting the folder, as in the image above should display the...

How to move around an outline

Hi all, So, I have an outline with chapters and subsections. In outline view - I click on a section and nothing happens. I would expect the section to be the focus in the main window when I do this. The only way I have found, so far, is to to use the up and down arrows in the main window. Surely, th...

Re: Formatting preset changes - apply to whole document

Now, that is a major limitation.

Not everyone gets it right the first time. I now have to go through a 100 page document to apply the presets. Not good.

Formatting preset changes - apply to whole document

Hi, I have been making changes to my document presets (for an existing document). For instance, changes to body, header font sizes. Is there any way to apply these changes throughout the whole document, instead of manually going through the document? I would have thought that changing a preset would...

Re: List indents

Playing with this a bit further, the main problem is that we have this Tab+Bullet+Tab pattern that cannot be customised. However we do have complete control over tab stops. So in effect, you could arrange for bullets to look different by moving the tab stops around until the indent is “gone”. You c...

Re: List indents

Scrivener's 'working philosophy' is that the ideas and the words come first, and the formatting and layout later. Although its presentation of documents on the screen, as well as on the page, has become more flexible over time, the work required to amend the text engine it uses is often huge and ti...

Re: List indents

Hi Amber,

Well that's pretty disappointing - when writing a technical manual, for instance, that's quite a serious limitation.

I would expect a tool like Scrivener to give you better control over what you are seeing on the page - before you get to the compiling stage.

Thanks,

Mike

List indents

Hi,

I do not want my lists to have indents - how do I remove them (I mean on the editing pages - not compiling)

Thanks,

Mike
