Export Files window

Scriv 3.1.1, Mac OS 10.13.6. Just encountered something odd, The Options area of the Export Files window is huge (and doesn't appear to be resizable). Screen Shot 2018-11-15 at 2.19.17 PM.png Looks like the first time I invoke File | Export | Files (either via menu command or keyboard shortcut) the ...

Media Player - small display bug

On 3.0.3 (MacOS 10.13.6) I've noticed the Time Remaining indicator in the media player will occasionally drop a digit. It seems to happen reliably at -04:44. 2018-10-22 11.04.03.gif IIRC there's a few other times where it happens as well, but forgot to jot those down. I haven't yet seen it happen on...

Re: Spellcheck oddity with the text: "straight and narrow"

I wonder if this particular oddity has been generated because of the presumed etymology (on which Collins and American Heritage agree). Word origin of 'straight and narrow' perhaps an alteration of strait and narrow, an allusion to Matthew 7:14: 'strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which lea...

Re: I Will be Switching to Mac in August

I won't have any unpleasant surprises, will I? I switched about 4 years ago. For me the hardest things to get used to were: ⋅ Scrolling direction - I have it set to "Natural" (IIRC the default) which is opposite to the way the mouse wheel scrolled on Windows. You can always chan...

Ha, I restarted Scriv and now it's not doing it.

I'll keep an eye on it to see if I can figure out what I did to cause that earlier. :?:

Re: Keyboard shortcut conflict between script elements and styles

Quick update to this - the fix seems to have worked in the main scrivener window. But today I decided to work in Composition mode for the first time in ages and I'm seeing the same sort of behaviour. (3.0.2 / 10.12.6) In the main Scrivener window, the shortcuts are assigned to Scriptwriting | Change...

Re: ipad textexpander or TypeIt4Me

Looks like that's a no. When typing within the TypeIt4Me Touch notepad app itself, yes, you can use a physical Bluetooth-connected keyboard. However, like other third party keyboards, the TypeIt4Me Touch keyboard extension that you can bring up in other apps will only work when you type directly on ...

Re: Scrivener 3 compile: Line spacing, first paragraph indent, and scene separators

When editing my custom format, "Section Layouts" formatting tab shows line spacing of "2.0" but it's greyed-out and non-adjustable so presumably this isn't where I can customize it. You need to click in the box with the sample text for the formatting controls to become active. S...

Re: Airdrop

Can I use Airdrop to sync files between the two systems or Synology DS Cloud which uses my local, private NAS server. You can use Airdrop. Just be aware that it's more sending a copy rather than a true sync. So you need to stay on top of which copy is which when using Airdrop. When sending from Mac...

Re: Section layouts and separators (custom, esp), the separator pane I can't find ANYWHERE

You can use the +/- buttons in the Project Settings window to create or remove new section types as needed.

They don't have to match whatever Amber used, just use whatever makes sense to you for how you want you final document to be structured. You'll define how they actually look in the compiler

Re: Best way to add a separator between text within a document

To see it you'll need to either edit one of your own custom formats, or create a new custom format, or duplicate & edit one of the existing built in formats. Screen Shot 2018-05-20 at 4.56.16 PM.png And then you'll be able to see the Separators pane (and many more). Screen Shot 2018-05-20 at 4.5...
