Scrivener iOS hangs "finishing up" Dropbox.

Duplicated my starting project. Scrivener asks to update Dropbox. I'll allow it. Does 19 files or some such. Hangs saying "finishing up". Does not respond to cancel button. Killed Scrivener. Restarted. It wants to sync, as it should. Allow it. Hangs again. Finally an error message: Could n...

Change iOS file suffix?

I compile my web articles as plain text, because if I turn on the Markdown toggles, Scrivener/iOS comments out all my YAML headers. That's not as helpful as it might be, but life is tough. I renamed the top folder to index, so that the output saved file after compile will be named index ... but I ne...

need tip for marking published projects please

i have various projects in Scrivener/ Dropbox. articles in progress, books in process or waiting, published articles, and so on.

They all just show up in Scrivener's list. Looking for ideas for something like labeling that shows up at the project list level.

Thanks!

Re: ios auto quit

i guess you folks must not use the auto quit. its point is that when you walk away from one machine, like to head out in the AM, when you open Scrivener on your laptop [or ipad], the one left behind has saved and exited, so you don't have any conflicts. it's a lifesaver for those of use who use mult...

Re: ios auto quit

same as in Scrivener 3, after a user-settable delay, save, update dropbox, exit.
just now, i imagine there's an issue if it isn't foreground, but perhaps even now it's possible.
anyway i want it :)
thanks,

Re: Is there a way to copy the content of the synopsis and the document notes into their document

As a computer scientist (no, really, I am :D ) I would argue that nothing + something = something, something + nothing = something, and nothing + nothing = nothing. And, of course, something + something else =, well, something + something else. So Scrivener is a bit too up tight about all this. And ...

Re: Is there a way to copy the content of the synopsis and the document notes into their document

Whenever I have a few documents selected, the feature, now called Documents > Autofill > Append Synopses to Main Text, appears to be greyed out. Please advise how one can use this feature. Thanks! Update: It seems to work, sometimes. Sometimes says Append, sometimes says Send, sometimes is greyed ou...

Re: Scrivener to Leanpub: the search for guidance.

FYI: Deep in the Leanpub help, I found this article: http://natedickson.com/2018/08/automation-for-authors/ which uses Scrivener Export and a Python script to make the book.txt file.

Still interested in ideas, thanks!

Re: Scrivener to Leanpub: the search for guidance.

OK, I'm slow. There's probably no real problem just compiling the whole draft to a single file, is there? Do all the organization in Scrivener, don't break it out into files, just put in the headers and let 'er rip.

Scrivener to Leanpub: the search for guidance.

After playing a bit with GitHub pages for holding a bookish kind of thing, I'm thinking Leanpub is a better target for my purposes. I have Philip Espinosa's book on Scrivener with Leanpub. He recommends using the Sync feature to set up for Leanpub, which expects separate files and a book.txt file sa...

Re: Make Scrivener interpret research files as text

Thanks, boss, that'll do it. What I had hoped for was a way to click the binder item post-hoc and say "hey wait this is just text". The other ways, preplanning or copy-paste will work.

Thanks,

Re: Make Scrivener interpret research files as text

I can, and I did. However, Scrivener conveniently offers the ability to drag things into the folder, and then is like "Huh?" when they're in there. If there's a way to drag in a batch and then tag them, it would save a lot of copy/paste.
