Re: Word repetition detector

Sorry, I was not very clear. For 'repeated words' I did not mean the same instance of a word put/left by mistake as in 'I am am Italian'. I meant rather the recurrence of the same word like twice in a sentence, or three times in a couple of lines. As in: 'His eyes were blue, while his wife's eyes we...

Word repetition detector

Hello! I browsed and searched here and there on these forums, but I cannot find any way to detect repeated words in a text - I am not talking about statistics, but a tool able to enlighten close repetitions of words, in order for the writer to spot and eliminate them. Is there already something simi...

Background in Composition mode

Hello, I updated from Scriv 2 to Scriv 3 and the background image in composition mode can't be changed (I mean in Preferences I put a different image or color but it won't show, the image remains the same as before). To be honest this happens just in one project, so it may be a glitch related to tha...

Re: Note numbers disappear - help please

Thank you for the attention. Just to be more precise: I wrote my essay using Scrivener, and when I compile into PDF it shows perfectly, with footnotes (and foot note numbers etc). When I compile it into Word (.doc) the notes appear like Endnotes (I can live with that) but the note numbers are missin...

Note numbers disappear - help please

Hello, I am trying to convert an essay into Word 97-2004 (.doc) format but all the numbers for the notes disappear - the note text appear at the end of the document, but both there and in the main text the note reference number is missing! What can I do? Thank you

Re: Help please: endnotes in converting

Thank you. I will have to consider the alternative solutions you propose, but at least you spared me another three hours of frustrating tries! Maybe, it would be a good idea to point out this 'problem' in the explicative text in MLA template, so everybody knows! But thank you for explaining!

Help please: endnotes in converting

Hello, I am sorry if the question has already been asked - I browsed some similar threads but unfortunately every case is a bit different. My problem: I have used Scrivener to write an essay in MLA format, and I need to convert it into .doc(x) format. I choose to convert the main content, which incl...

MLA Standards

Hello, some time ago I wrote with Scrivener my speech for a conference, using the Blank template. Now they want to publish the papers for the conference and asked the speakers to produce a MLA standard version of the speech. Is there some fast way to convert my text into those MLA standards or do I ...

Re: Writing/editing footnotes

you get where I’m going with this. :) you mean that every improvement would call for another, and then another, etc etc, so better leave it alone in the first place? or maybe you are hinting at something coming in the future? well I'm not sure I have understood clearly, blame my English! ;) But yes...

Re: Writing/editing footnotes

Thank you for the reply… I just tried what you suggested, but I don't like the way the main text remains fragmented by the footnote text, and also the length and the look of the pages in the main editor result messy… I point out that it 's no big deal, and I can manage to use the footnote feature th...

Writing/editing footnotes

Hello, I just wanted to know if it is possible to edit/write footnotes in a different pane than the Inspector one, I mean on a separate page where writing and editing them would be more convenient. Thing is, I find it difficult especially for long footnotes to write and revise them in the limited la...

Re: Where has the iOS Wish List Gone?

Hello, I am too eagerly awaiting for the release of Scrivener for iPad. I don't know if this has been asked already, but I would like to know if the app will include that sort of enhanced keyboard you can find in app like iAwriter, Writings etc. In these keyboards I particularly appreciate the smart...
