Wrote a gigantic novel-cycle

I actually wrote this novel-cycle a couple of years ago, but this year re-edited it for paperback (it had previously been Kindle-only). It was started in Mac TextEdit, then moved to Scrivener, where most of the work was done, including all of the preliminary edits. The final edits of the paperback v...

My 2014 Macbook (the one with the 'retina display', gold finish etc.) typing lacunae

A lot of the letters I try to type are not appearing unless I type very slowly.
Possible reasons:
Heatwave, affecting my delicate-but-oh-so-elegant 2014 Macbook;
MacOS Sierra issues;
My own forgotten-and-likely-strange settings;
Scrivener.
New experience, as of today, Sunday, 30 July, 2017.

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

I am excited for this, even although I now have the perspective that Scrivener is indeed the 'killer app' which justified my last-year purchase of the (then) new Macbook.
I also look forward to Keith's eventually finishing and publishing his own novel. j

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

I'm not well off, but I know what I need. I got the new Macbook specifically because it would help me finish my looong novel while travelling. Scrivener for IOS would have been cheaper, and I'll certainly get it when it comes out, but, well, I think Scrivener is the killer app for the new Macbook (w...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

For me it was a race to see which was going to come out first–the new MBA or this app–and it seems the app is a front runner, which is good, especially as I found a way to trust my old MBPro, and have a way to comfortably use regular Scrivener again. I have been writing a big long novel using the No...

Re: Scapple and other platforms (iOS, Windows etc)

using VNC I can get some of Scapple's function on the iPad Presumably people who are more used to resources like VNC can get a fuller set of functions with Scapple in the iPad. There is a bit of latency, not a huge amount. Try it for a foretaste of what a ported Scapple might eventually be like. (So...

Re: sensitivity of zone by linking lines

You mean (gasp!) the software isn't going to adapt to me! :) Thanks. I like the behaviour, except maybe for the width of the zone, but, indeed, I can easily adapt.
Still looking forward to the paying version, when I can have an icon permanently in my Dock. I use this a lot. j

Re: sensitivity of zone by linking lines

Keith, I have a couple of PDFs that show the effect I'm talking about.
I hope these will make it clear:

sensitivity of zone by linking lines

When I put a new bubble even fairly close to a line linking two other bubbles, the line automatically links to it. Can the zone of sensitivity be reduced on wither the bubble or the line so this will only happen when it's really close or right on the line?

Wonderful app btw. j

Re: Feature wish-list - the most important one

I could see this - or something very like it - being useful for some mathematical work, especially if one could collect a set of items in a row as well as - currently - in a column. With that in mind, a default initial size for the "item bubble" would be better if it were shorter - to bein...

Re: Feature wish-list - the most important one

This is a fantastic piece of software. I agree that its simplicity is part of its power,however I would like it to be possible to have the connecting lines labelled. I'd also like the possibility of layers, so that one could superimpose Scapple maps, for comparison, or for 3D linking, rotation and c...
