Re: Anything to share about Scrivener 3.0?

True: we are in January, one third has gone. We really have few info on the release, but this is ok. We wait. My only worry is about the requirements: it is not clear if version 3.0 will run on El Capitan or be only for Sierra. I have an old Mac that does not run the new system (about which I have r...

Re: Scrivener Beta 3 now public

I will be very disappointed if the circulating information about the coming Scrivener 3 being compatible only with Sierra is true! I have an old iMac still working very well under El Capitan and not updatable to the new Apple System and I do not understand why the new Scrivener would not run on my m...

PDFs annotations

I am interested to know if you use some app to annotate PDFs. The problem is: how do you take out a file from Scrivener, annotate, and then reinsert it in the project? Because I think that there is no way to annotate a pdf from within the iOS app. Any advise would be appreciated. Have a wonderful da...

Removing Fonts

You can add custom fonts to your iOs App putting them inside a special folder: Dropbox/Apps/Scrivener/Fonts 1. It is not clear, though, if we need to keep the fonts inside this folder forever, or if we can delete them after they are uploaded in the iOs App. 2. It is possible to remove the fonts goin...

Re: Fonts: again.

Thank you Keith. I have the fonts stored in the right location (Dropbox/Apps/Scrivener/Fonts/). In this folder I have few fonts (GaramondPremrPro.otf; GaramondPremrPro-It.otf; etc.). And now I can see in the iOs app text where I can choose the variant italic in the Garamond Family: it is hidden behi...

Fonts: again.

I have a question about fonts upload. I have a font with stylistic variations: xxx.otf; xxxbold.otf, xxxitalic.otf, xxxsemibold.otf, etc. I have uploaded all the variants but it seems that none of the variants are recognized by the app. If I want to apply italics for instance I do not see the xxxita...

Re: Printing

One short answer: Scrivener is for writing and then compiling to a format that you can use in another software to print etc. I export in rtf and use Nisus for layout, styles, printing etc. (Frankly I have not printed one page in ages, saving trees etc, and I have a small Press!). But someone else co...

Re: The Legal Issues of Being Forced into using Dropbox

Oh my god! Anytime someone buys Scrivener is forced to use Finder (or whatever is in Windows)… No No No

Re: From Aliases to Real files

Sorry. I was talking about Indexing which is, in Devonian jargon, as having an alias in your database. In DevonThink File->Index and choose your file. This way the file is not "really" stored in your database. If you want to store it just right click on its icon and choose Show in Finder o...

Re: why i cannot redefine styles?

Please read the Tutorial (which come with Scrivener iOs) to find a solution. You need to define styles in the desktop and then export/import in the iOs. It is very easy…

Re: Scratchpad

Sorry, but there is no Scratchpad implemented in Scrivener iOs. Probably it is not technically doable.

Textexpander or alternatives

I am in need of a text expander app. The best is Textexpander, but starting with version 4 you have to pay a montly (insane) fee. On the iTunes store there is listed the previous version which maybe more than enough (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/textexpander-3-+-custom-keyboard/id917416298?mt=8)....
