Re: Formatting a notecard

Synopses are plain-text (for technical reasons, due to how and where they are used throughout the interface), so rich text formatting isn't possible. You can do a lot just by marking up words with asterisks and underscores, however. For the MLA formatting, if you're wanting to ultimately create a l...

Re: Formatting a notecard

but I don't understand what you expect to accomplish by putting a citation in a notecard. You can't turn synopses into footnotes. It's just a readability thing. Those formats exist to make it faster for our eyes to scan footnotes and get the critical info without the "speed bumps" of poor...

Formatting a notecard

Okay, I've searched the manual, searched the web, searched the forum, Googled the forum and the site, and I still don't turn up an answer to a question that has to have been asked a thousand times... Does any method exist for simple formatting in a notecard? The ability to bold, italicize, or underl...

Re: Windows 1.5.3.0 Update Released 5th Feb 2013

You can download the 1.5.3 installer from the main page of the website; here's a direct link . You can just install that over your existing copy, though I recommend uninstalling first for a cleaner update. Thanks! That did the trick! (I didn't see such a link when I went to the site. Google glasses...

Re: Windows 1.5.3.0 Update Released 5th Feb 2013

Can you provide an update download link that lets me update manually? My update fails at around 43% of the download, on each of three separate tries. They built-in download isn't refreshing itself automatically. It just times out and leaves you with nothing. It's maddening. Let me download it from m...

Re: copy or paste formatting

Thanks, AmberV! That's what I needed to know! I consider this a closed thread. (EDIT: Can the proposed feature include a simple improvement on the way the ruler bar works? It makes positioning much easier when the paragraph or tab position selected on the ruler causes a dashed line to drop down the ...

copy or paste formatting

I tried the increasingly-useless Google to search the web and this forum, and waded through several results pages of a forum search, but I can't seem to find anyplace on the web or here discussing the basic notion of: copying the format of a paragraph and then pasting or applying the copied format t...

Re: Returning to cursor position not working

I know I saw a reply in here that now appears to be gone. It was from someone either at L&L or a very-knowledgeable regular. The reply asked if I had copied things into a new project to see if the cursor return was working. I haven't tried that because I'm short on time, but I did notice the pro...

Re: Returning to cursor position not working

Are you by any chance switching between Mac and PC platforms to edit the file? This causes a known conflict in the last saved cursor position. Otherwise, try pasting a few pages of text into a new blank project in two files and switch between them. Does it work there? No, I'm strictly working the P...

Returning to cursor position not working

When I move from one folder or file to another, and then go back, I find that the file I was working in appears in the edit window at a random scrolling position, usually near the beginning of the text. Clicking in the text merely fixes the cursor wherever I click. Did I change a setting by mistake ...

Re: Kindle .mobi Without TOC

Just my 2 cents worth about the whole epub/mobi thing. Good points! Late to the thread, but no one has mentioned the simple fact that it's all too easy to get lost while reading an eBook. Especially if you read several books at a time (I continually have a whole shelf of books on slow-read, plus se...

Re: New Install - Interface Does Not Work

This should be the last item in this thread. (Please don't respond further) This issue is closed. I bought a cheapo, standard, two-button mouse and it all works just fine. Also, I get to keep my tablet connected; I just have to switch pointing devices when running Scrivener. Thanks to the responders!

Re: New Install - Interface Does Not Work

It is,however,a very old tablet-- (WACOM DIGITIZER II) , which I've adapted to the newer all-USB computers with a SERIAL-to-USB adapter. Perhaps that makes a difference? Or that, combined with my WIN XP OS? It does make a difference. I used to write drivers for mice and tablets. After WIN95 or so, ...
