Re: Scapple high DPI support

It looks like Windows addressed this sometime in the past several months. Per some more recent comments at one of the links I provided ( https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askcore/2016/08/16/display-scaling-changes-for-the-windows-10-anniversary-update/ ), go into the shortcut's properties, select ...

no dragging in QuickZoom

I noticed the manual states that you can do things like drag notes around when QuickZoom ("Z") is enabled, but this doesn't appear to work. I can select before or after QuickZoom, but inside QuickZoom I can't drag notes.

Re: Each Chapter, First Paragraph Only, No Indent

You've altered your documents, but the formatting applied by the compiler is overwriting what you're doing. I'm a fan of putting in my own tabs, so in the compiler settings, Formatting page, I selected documents of Level 2+ (so, at least beneath the chapter level) and in there I adjusted the ruler s...

Re: Scrapple doesn't work on high res?

I don't know whether this worked for anyone here, but I tried this (see my post at http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=32313&p=226832#p226832), without any luck.

Re: Scapple high DPI support

FWIW, at this point--and possibly due to the Windows 10 anniversary update ( https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askcore/2016/08/16/display-scaling-changes-for-the-windows-10-anniversary-update/ ), as far as I can tell, neither the PreferExternalManifest registry hack (+ the external manifest file),...

Re: High DPI Question

When they mentioned v3 to you, did they mention an ETA? I asked, but no. They did not. They have quite a lot of work here; in order to match up with Mac 3.0, they have to: ⋅  Upgrade versions of their display library (the old version doesn't support high-DPI displays), which I expect affe...

Re: Ability to Sync for Collaborative Writing Projects

I would personally steer clear of using source control systems with something like Scrivener. With Git (which is what you use on Github) you will need to do merges frequently. My personal recommendation is Syncthing . Syncthing is a free open source peer-to-peer folder synchronization solution. If y...

Re: Switching between Binder and Search Results changes docs

It looks like this bug is fixed in version 1.9.0.0. Based on this item in the change list I gather it was intentional: Fixed a bug whereby closing a collection could cause the editor to reload the binder selection rather than to continue displaying the item loaded from the collection. This also corr...

Scapple high DPI support

I have a Surface Pro 3 as well as a laptop and desktop. The laptop and desktop machines have 1080p screens, whereas the Surface Pro 3 is 2160x1440. Using this Scrivener thread , I've found that (under Windows 10) are with the manifest file (and registry setting) in place, as well as setting compatib...

Re: "Preserve Formatting" doesn't preserve italics

The Preserve Formatting feature is only designed to protect text from formatting commands made in the Formatting preference pane. The settings outside of that will continue to impact the text. The thinking is that for most uses of Preserve Formatting, to format some manuscript text differently (for...

"Preserve Formatting" doesn't preserve italics

Using Scrivener 1.8.6.0, I have some text enclosed in a "Preserve Formatting" bubble, but when I go to compile, the italics in it get converted to underlining. Yes, I want italics converted to underlining in the rest of the manuscript, but not where I used "Preserve Formatting". ...

Scrivenings scrolling behavior

I know the Scrivenings mode is getting updated. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that, on touch-oriented devices, a regular document scrolls intuitively (finger-scrolling works). But in Scrivenings mode, finger-dragging selects text instead. FWIW it's also counterintuitive to me that PgUp and P...

Re: conditional text separators, preventing formatting overrides

In Scrivener for Mac, you can set up custom meta-data fields that appear in the inspector and as columns in the outliner. These can be for anything you want, and you can include their values in Compile by using the <$custom:MetaDataName> tag. Was this added yet? In Scrivener 1.7 I understand that C...

Re: Switching between Binder and Search Results changes docs

I just wanted to confirm that, unfortunately, this bug still exists in 1.8.0.0.
