Re: Legibility of Big Sur UI

Just went though the Ioa recommended calibration (but did BOTH sliders because they are there!) and it helps. A lot. But it still looks like they are trying to make all the systems feel like iOS. 1. focus contrast is easier to see 2. icons and widgets are a bit more dimensional relative to the "...

Re: Bug: Instacrash after 3.2 upgrade

I like it but at the same time it is really stressing out the OCD aspects of my autism because that S looks like it's sliding right out of the button... Ha, my ten year-old looked at and said, "Why's it in the corner"? Think of it as representing a close-up of your text. :) Thanks KB. I a...

Re: An error occurred in retrieving update information. Please try again later.

Thanks, it wasn't my specific problem, but deleting the plist allowed it to find the update and download it. Problem solved. Thanks. actually, KB uploaded the 3.2 file which fixed the changed server response. Search for this problem on this forum and you will see the numerous threads and the resolu...

and since so many reputable websites say And there's your problem. As was pointed out, the "journey" is about the growth/change of a character (not always for the better). It sounds like you have one os the following issues with your plan/novel/whatever 1. too many characters 2. not enoug...

Re: Please add coordination between scrolling and the cursor arrows:

Forgive me, but you are making assumptions about what other people want based on your own preferences. Theirs may be very different. And on a practical level, I just click somewhere in the middle of text window before I press an arrow key. It works very well. Whew! I was starting to think I was wro...

Re: Scrivener 3, Scrivener for iPad, and changes at apple.

I think it was Ioa that said it looks like a move to support touch interface for OS X. To me it feels exactly like iOS UI. My guess is that they are moving to a “no keyboards” world leveraging either voice or gesture nav with voice exclusive input. It’s the only thing that makes sense. It’s a great ...

Re: Scrivener 3, Scrivener for iPad, and changes at apple.

Well, I just hope there is a new app preference setting so users can choose their preferred purple: Prince, Hendrix, or Barney. Or at least a "hazy" option? For the record, I hate ALL the icons in Big Sloppy (explained in very next line) Since I do nothing useful anymore, I dropped the Bi...

Purple! Prince. Hendrix. I’m good with purple.

But DONT CHANGE THE ICON!!!

If you do the turtles may shift and upset the universe.

Re: Should I upgrade to Big Sur now, or wait?

Search for Big Sur on the forum. You will find issues. known issues. If you are ok with the known issues then go ahead. If you aren't then feel free to risk it . Keep in mind that just because no one has yet experienced an issue with a specific use case, there is NO guarantee you will not be the fir...

Re: Scrivener 3, Scrivener for iPad, and changes at apple.

The Scrivener Big Sur/Silicon update still needs a few final touches, so unfortunately it's not going to be out on release day - although Apple's developer site is down right now anyway. It won't be much longer, though. All the best, Keith can we hate the icon in advance? :D Seems you already do!!!...
