Re: Setting title of new documents while in main editor

...it defaults to the body, not the title. Yes - that's the problem: the cursor goes to the body when the binder has focus, and the user has to go to the binder or the header (as Bridey suggests they do). Bridey: your way is an extra step compared to before, and a keyboard shortcut (as opposed to j...

Setting title of new documents while in main editor

Hi! I used to be able to create a new document (cmd + n) while scrivener's focus was on the main editor and immediately set the title from the main editor: i.e. after pressing cmd+n, the text cursor would move to the title of the new document (with 'Show Titles in Scrivenings' on). This meant I coul...

Display word count for individual document

Hi, I'm new to the forum (but not to Scrivener!). I searched and couldn’t find a request for this particular feature, but my apologies if it's a repeat. As I imagine many people do, when writing I divide my document into multiple subdocuments, with each document being a paragraph and all documents v...

Re: search within footnotes and comments

This is fantastic news; I was about to ask the same question, what with the end of summer – and phd submission dates – looming. Could I ask whether the next update is likely to be out before say, the end of september?

hate to be the first one to ask this, especially at such an early stage...but have you had any thoughts about an *eventual* iphone/ipad companion app?

Re: Addition to File>Backup submenu

I also just realised there's a "Reveal Support Folder in Finder' menu item, which (more or less) accounts for my original request.

Agh yes, that does. Sorry I should have checked before asking.

Addition to File>Backup submenu

Would it be possible to add an entry to the File>Backup submenu that takes you to/'reveals' the folder for backups in the Finder? I occasionally find myself hunting through a backup to find something I wish I hadn't deleted from a document, or didn't save a snapshot for; this would make the process ...

Re: AppleScript: what do you want to see in the Scrivener Suite?

I'm also a bit late to this thread, and worse, don't know anything about scripting. But I do use Bookends, and it seems the developer has recently improved its Applescript capabilities: https://www.sonnysoftware.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3161 https://www.sonnysoftware.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.p...

ah - apologies for creating an unnecessary itch. and thanks for investigating so speedily; a week in and I already feel like becoming a Scrivener evangelist!

Re: option to disable bounce on import

I didn't mean dragging onto the dock icon. It bounces even when dragging text from another (adjacent) app window (DEVONthink Pro in this case) into Scrivener. But I suppose in that case Scrivener still counts as an inactive app, even if the window is visible. So you're right - thanks!

option to disable bounce on import

Hi there, I'm new to Scrivener. Great program, wish I'd been using it since the beginning of my phd. I have a v.minor feature request - could a preference setting be added to the 'Import/Export' to disable the dock icon bounce upon file importing? I find it slightly distracting and not especially va...
