Re: Beta Bugs - Post Them Here

Slightly odd one for build 26067: smart quotes randomly stop working in the main editor. They start working again if I restart Scrivener.

I am running scrivener on El Capitan, by the way.

Increase Contrast = White Cursor in Scratchpad

As I reported here, if Increase Contrast is selected in Accessibility Preferences, the cursor for the scratchpad is white no matter which background colour you choose. If you use the default background colour, the cursor will be invisible.

White Scratchpad Cursor? [Solved]

Although I haven't used Scratchpad in awhile, I don't recall the cursor being white and, thus, invisible on the default background. I'd like it to be black again! I can't work out how to change this back (to black) so I was hoping someone here might have an idea. At the moment, the only way I can se...

Re: Beta Bugs - Post Them Here

Hi Benjamine, That is still on my list for investigating, but I'm afraid it's a little way down the list (there's a lot of work been going on in the background and still lots more to do!). All the best, Keith Thanks, Keith. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't forgotten! It's an odd bug. Sometimes ...

Re: Scrivener 3?

A lot of work has been done on the preferences for 3.0, and the feedback we've had is that they are now much easier to navigate and use. Personally, I'd be happy to restrict the number of preferences to a handful, hard-setting everything else to my own preferences (well, I'd hardly choose someone e...

Keith, Fullscreen + use 2nd screen in compostion mode on 10.9 This issue is still present in 2.5.5 in both Mavericks and Yosemite: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24938 Basically, if you open Scrivener in fullscreeen on the secondary display -- in my case, my laptop d...

Although this isn't listed as a feature request, I'd like to make it one. I'd find it very useful to be able to change the link line colour.

Re: Fullscreen + use 2nd screen in comp mode on 10.9

Hi Keith, I thought I should report that this behaviour has worsened on 10.9.3. If Scrivener is in Fullscreen mode on my laptop display and composition mode on my external display, when I exit Composition mode and then Fullscreen mode, I am not able to summon the menubar at all. Also, now when I use...

Re: Formatting preset changes - apply to whole document

This is useful to know, xiamenese. Your response indicates that this is something possibly slated for Scrivener 3? Although Scrivener is for drafting, I find it useful to have a general idea of what the document looks like. For instance, I just discovered that my college now requires 1.5 inch right ...

Re: Unable to zoom image documents

This came up not so long ago and I discovered that BetterTouchTool tends to interfere with zooming. As I recall, someone else found that the same developer's app called BetterSnapTool also caused this issue.
I was able to fix the problem by removing all zooming settings from BTT.

Re: Zooming In/Out of PDFs & JPGs

Did you try turning off BetterSnapTool? Also, you might try adding Scrivener to your accessibility settings. On 10.9, that's in System Preferences->Security & Privacy->Privacy->Accessibility. Just unlock System Preferences if necessary, drag the Scrivener app into the window, and tick the little...

Re: Zooming In/Out of PDFs & JPGs

Ray, are you using BetterTouchTool by any chance? I was having the same problem and discovered that BTT was the culprit. Although I haven't quite gotten to the bottom of the issue, I have found that simply using BTT's setting to "Disable BTT for Current App" on Scrivener solves the problem...

Re: Strange lines drawing through main editor

damon,

I get these odd lines too, also at 150% magnification. The issue, xiamenese, is that I didn't get these lines before. That said, it's so minor, I wouldn't have reported it.

Re: Fullscreen + use 2nd screen in comp mode on 10.9

I have found a workaround for this. If you close composition mode, drag the fullscreen app to the primary display, and then exit fullscreen mode, the menubar behaves as it should.

Fullscreen + use 2nd screen in comp mode on 10.9

Run Scrivener 2.5 on Mavericks, tick "Use secondary screen if available" under composition mode settings. Open scrivener in full screen mode on secondary screen and then activate composition mode. Then exit composition mode and then exit fullscreen mode. You'll find that the menubar on the...
