Re: I know you are, but what am I?

Yes, I read that, too, but there's a lot of working authors in here, so for all of us it's paid. 50 a year. Every year.

software for writing

All for the mere pittance of 50 a year. And it's a Beta download. Of course.

Re: I know you are, but what am I?

they aren't a charity

Exactly. Now go write something using the software of your choice. You'll be able to produce more output, faster, than by using a product you have no use for, but continue to whine and snivel about.

Re: Wind your watch

I've not spent much time at 5000 feet in a helicopter. When I did, it was considered a luxury, as I was usually on a ferry flight to somewhere to start a job. And that 5000 feet was if the weather was good. On the other hand, as a fire pilot, hydro line pilot, slinging diamond drills, gravity survey...

Re: Congratulations Team L&L!

too little, too late and for too high a price

Well, to be fair, L&L did give away Win v3 for years, and people weren't happy with that, either. So, I guess it all evens out now that they're charging for it, and people still aren't happy. Go figure.

Re: Cursor out of displayed range of document when opening a project.

If the cursor position is correct but you can't see it. click an arrow button. Up, down, left, right, any arrow should do. I don't think that means what I think it means, because it doesn't work. The only way I can get a cursor in a text panel that I come back to is by clicking my mouse, and the cu...

vanity publishing/Kindle Direct or whatever other guises it comes in To paraphrase Bogart in Casablanca, perhaps you have been misinformed. I get 2,000 downloads a month, month in, month out, for my "vanity published product" on Google Play Books. And that is only one of my many platforms...

Re: How I removed multiple beta entries in add remove programs

On my 3rd laptop I had to use the appwiz.cpl method. In my case, I had a shortcut on my desktop for the old Control Panel. Control Panel / Programs / Programs and Features brings up the Uninstall or change a program listing. Scroll down and you'll see all your Scrivener versions listed. Right click ...

I concur with GfK. I have MalwareBytes Pro on three laptops. It integrates perfectly with Windows Defender, or whatever they're calling it these days.

Re: Papyrus Author (Pro in my case) and why I use it.

Many experienced authors, myself included, do what is called "cycling" for one-and-done output. It's nothing new or revolutionary, as I'm sure you know. That, and being capable of typing a thousand words an hour, as well as knowing story structure inside and out, will enable authors to pum...

You Android people can just get in line!

Shouldn't you be busy doing some "porting"?

Re: Android version

a 6-year Android beta now.

Six years? For Android? What's taking so long? It should be so simple to just port over the Ipad version and make it compatible.
