This is why we can't have nice things.

Re: All I want for Christmas ...

Ah, so all the blacksmiths! When I was a child, my grandfather would take me to visit the blacksmith in a neighboring town. I recall marveling at just about everything - the glowing forge; the huge anvil; the harnesses hanging on the walls; the various tools. I recall they'd have a b.s. session and...

I'm hoping for lumps of coal for everyone who deserves one (except for actual children, of course, and me!).

Re: What is your experience with Scrivener?

I agree wholeheartedly. I've been using Scrivener for a decade now, and it can't be beat as far as I'm concerned. I've not come across any problems in the 1.9x version (other than the Paddle debacle). The blip didn't really affect me, other than I kept 1.9x updated as recommended, because by the tim...

Yeah, I had one of those holidays once. Came to on the Baja six years later with a full beard.

Re: EPUB 3 and EPUB 2

how do we get our ebooks to all retailers and libraries? I can't speak to all of the retailers and libraries you want to reach, so take what I do with a grain of salt. I upload a properly formatted Word 10 .doc to Smashwords. They then do the formatting required to publish to all of their platforms...

Re: Latest beta expiring in middle of Nanowirmo month? That would be very cruel.

I'm left to wonder why one would entertain using a Beta product for something that, apparently, is so near and dear to one's heart as, for example, a Nanowrimo. It might be wrong of me, of course, to deign to ask the question, but I feel it's necessary in light of the importance of outputting produc...

Re: Thank you developers for all you are doing for a 1 time purchase price!

I too will happily pay the upgrade fee. From what I have seen and used of Beta 3 for Win, how can I not? I've been quite happily using it for what seems like forever. When it comes time to pony up, I'll be first in line. (Although I doubt that. The line will be too long for me to be the first.)

Re: unable to verify your activation for more then two months

I stated getting the notification on both laptops today. I was able to correct Laptop One by doing a re-install of 1.9.14, since there was no Paddle directory in (x86) Scrivener. The Paddle directory appeared on re-install. I ran Scrivener.exe, re-entered my email and licence number, and so far, I'm...

OneNote, and Excel work great.

Well shure. They would. Millions of $$$ have no doubt been expended by a corporation with thousands of employees to make certain.

Re: A great program marred by critical flaws in core functionality.

Scrivener simply did not work well with Word

To be fair, what program does work well with Word, if you please?

Re: A great program marred by critical flaws in core functionality.

Screenplays? No. It gets int he way. Technical writing? Design documents? No. It gets in the way. (Guess what kinds of writing I do  ) You paid 60 bucks for writing software that you anticipated would do everything. Might I suggest an actual piece of software that is designed _specifically_ f...

Re: It's official - Constructive Criticism as a form of improvement is DEAD!

Personally, I found all the "constructive criticism" I needed in the Scrivener version 3 Beta forum. I read and digested all of the Beta forum bugs and comments. By the time Beta 7 (or perhaps it was B8) came out, I was hooked. I installed it, and I haven't looked back, other than to make ...

I've re-downloaded today's Scrivener. exe file and copied it appropriately. It now runs accordingly.

Thanks for all the effort.
