However, is there any chance that you will make a 64bit (AMD64) version available?

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg --force-architecture -i scrivener-1.5.3.1-beta.deb

Re: Scrivener "Cannot mix incompatible Qt library"

I installed Mint 13, 64 bit with MATE. Then I installed Scrivener from the .deb file with dpkg. It worked perfectly.

Then I installed KDE using apt-get.

Scrivener still works great with none of these issues.

This might help you track it down.

Re: 1.5.0.6 LINUX Beta Released

Linux Mint 13 KDE 64bit. Downloaded *.deb file, installed from command prompt using sudo dpkg -i scrivener-1.5.0.6-beta.deb which overwrote my old install. Opened and it works great. Checking out new features now. nb. I never experienced any of the traditional 64bit issues or the missing lib problem...

Re: Dictionary

I simply do the spell checking at the end of my workflow. I do all of the writing in Scrivener and then dump an RTF to Libre Office for final formatting, editing and spell checking.

All of my professors want a Word document anyway so this is not a big deal for me, YMMV.

Re: Running Scrivener on Linux

I recently installed Mint 13 MATE. After trying it for a bit I installed KDE. Then I installed Scrivener and it has worked flawlessly except for the well known bugs.

Re: Scrivener Scratchpad Uses Invalid Linux Pathname

I just tried it and it works for me. The note appears in the "Scrivener Scratchpad" directory in my home directory. I can edit it, change the title and save it just fine.

Re: 1.2.5 Scrivener for Linux RELEASED

This happens immediately after I try to Open a project from Scrivener when I am running it on Kubuntu 12.04. If I switch to Xfce on the same Ubuntu installation the Open dialog shows fine, and Scrivener doesn't crash. Is there any way to work around this incompatibility in KDE? I run Scrivener flaw...

Re: 1.2.1 BETA for Linux Imminent

*headdesk* I haven't been able to open the older beta for weeks and nobody seems to know why. And I can't download the new one either because it's not up yet. I don't suppose anyone in this thread knows why the old one closes itself as soon as I open it? It's getting a little frustrating not being ...

Re: No luck - Kubuntu 12.04

Actually, I've been unable (repeated attempts) to get Scrivener to run on Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit. I'm relatively new to linux but no stranger to computers in general and I can't make heads or tails of it. Using the command line to install it doesn't work, and neither does downloading and installing th...

Re: gstreamer requirement

Hi. I'm kind of upping this topic in order to agree with grahamcummins. Frankly, I'm not a Scrivener user, I just wanted to give it a try (someone told me it was great). But I gave up, I'll stick to LaTeX for now. Maybe some other time, when the dependencies won't be as complicated as now (or when ...

Wuala supports client side encryption, is multi platform, has a full featured client and offers 5GB for free. Here is a referral link so I get free space if you try it out. :D I use it with Scrivener on Linux. Wuala supports automated directory sync/backup so once it is setup there is no muss or fus...
