Re: Slugline Screenwriting App

Side Note: I found that writing in fountain also stops you from worrying nearly as much about all the stupid little formatting rules (which, as well all know, aren't so much rules as "guidelines.") At least that's the way it's been for me. Even on a first draft I was always just as focused...

Re: Slugline Screenwriting App

I've taken a much different approach, lately, to my screenwriting. I'm normally a "keep my notes in Scrivener" and "write the script in Final Draft" kinda guy, but recently that's changed. I'm writing a new script with a writing partner. He does most of his writing on his iPad wi...

Re: Persona (50% off now): an app to create characters

Heart7 - As a side note, if you're really interested in finding a piece of software to help you create characters, you might take a look at Character Writer by Typing Chimp. You can still buy it, but I''m not sure how much it is supported anymore. It's more expensive, but does give you more customiz...

Re: Persona (50% off now): an app to create characters

As some one who picked up Persona during a pre-order sale before it first came out, I would caution against spending your money on it. There are still several issues with the software, just from a bug perspective, and Mariner's support has taken an unexpected turn for the worse. Some core features s...

Re: Feature request: draw lines

Keith,

Just wanted to say that the new background shapes are exactly what I was wishing for when I chimed in on this post a while back.

Thank you, sir. Your work is very appreciated!

Re: Setting Up Editor to Equal MS Word Page Count

Go check the ... manual? Well, that was going to be the ... next place I looked. That did it, Ioa, and I thank you kindly. For some reason, it just wasn't clicking (translated, that means I was making too hard ... kind of a pattern with me). But after reading that and playing around, ...

Setting Up Editor to Equal MS Word Page Count

First, let me say that I'm sorry. I know this question has to have been asked before, but for the life of me I can't conjure up the right search phrase to find it. So please don't slap me around ... :D I'm a screenwriter in grad school and I've run up against something I can't seem to figure out. In...

Re: Feature request: draw lines

I guess there's really no difference between a line drawing tool and what I've been doing this far - just creating four "anchor points" (nodes with just a period in them) and connecting them to form a box around something. Works just as well. :D

Re: Feature request: draw lines

I would agree that it doesn't need a full fledged OmniGraffle like drawing set. However, in keeping with the theme that Scapple is like a large piece of paper, or white board, I often find myself in real life drawing a box around a set of ideas to separate them from the rest of what is on the paper....

Re: Wish: Inspector from Context Menu

Just the other day I was thinking that this very thing would be handy. For some reason, I tend to use a lot of colors and always have to go back to "view" and open the inspector. It doesn't put me off, by any means, but to have it in the context menu would be useful.

Re: Feature request: draw lines

Sure you could. I'm just thinking that I keep much of my current work on Dropbox, so to look at it on the iPad if I'm on campus would mean that I need to always keep a PDF copy on hand, rather than just viewing a native Scapple file. That's all. It's more a convenience thing than a necessity.

Re: Feature request: draw lines

I've been lurking on these boards long enough to know that you don't make software decisions based on votes on the board, but I'd really like to throw my hat over the wall for this, or something like it. So, if you ever get bored and have nothing to do :D ... I've been using it for a few weeks now t...

Re: Exporting to PDF

Got it. I knew there was something I wasn't doing right (or wasn't looking at it the right way.) Now it works like I wanted it to -- timeline exported to pdf, then pulled into Scrivener as its own document. And it looks damn good inside Scrivener, too! Thanks so much! Now let me throw something else...

Exporting to PDF

Sorry to bother about this but I couldn't find an answer in any other posts. I love Aeon, so far, it's what I've been looking for for a long time. But I have one issue I can't figure out -- how in the world to I simply print the timeline that I've created to a pdf? I'm sure it can be done, but for t...
