Re: Bombarded with alternatives

I'm not sure I fully understand your post. Are you asking if Scrivener has a viable business model? Or are you asking for a development road map? If you're afraid that Scrivener will suddenly go out of business, isn't that a risk with all software?! Even from the big corporations. Just look at the n...

Re: Using Scrivener with OneDrive

Looks to me like you are replying to a sophisticated troll as there is a hidden link in the OP's message. If you read it fully you'll see a reference to GPS that is completely out of context. The link is embedded there.

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

Not sure if you're aware of the beta @rivermonster, but just in case: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=40621 Manuskript looks very very ... familiar :D . Interesting to note that it has been in beta/development for almost 4 years. Making software like that must be di...

Re: Compile sometimes produces page with top and/or bottom line partially displayed

The best way for users to keep track of the bugs that are addressed/fixed is to check the list included in this thread with each beta release:

Re: 'Live' pane in split screen

Layouts definitely change the behaviour of the split editor, in terms of the Binder Selection Affects setting. I typically have Binder Selection Affects set to Right Editor Only. However, if I use the Three Pane Outline or Dual Navigation layouts and then revert back to default and then split the ed...

Re: Text Tidying > Replace Multiple Spaces for footnotes

Thanks for the explanation Ioa, much appreciated. To answer your second question first, since it leads directly to a solution: yes. This command is one of those that does not require an explicit selection, and when lacking one, it will impact all visible text in the editor—which in the case of Scriv...

Re: 12 part TV series... Keeping it together.

If you're working using Scrivener on a Mac (as your profile indicates), then you'll get better support if you post in the Mac section of the forum. especially if you're looking for advice on how to use Scrivener, or help with particular functions.

Text Tidying > Replace Multiple Spaces for footnotes

Text Tidying > Replace Multiple Spaces with Single Spaces is a very handy tool. I'm wondering if it's possible to use the command on a selection of more than one footnote? Currently, if I'm in a Scrivenings session and select all footnotes (as one might do if converting all to default formatting), t...

Re: Beta Expires Soon

A suggestion. To those of you who pile into every one of these threads (and it’s the same ones every time): draft a standard response explaining the beta process. Two lines will do. Post it if you feel the need to respond. Not only will it save you the time required to draft the unhelpful comments, ...

Re: Save Project as File instead of a Compiled Folder

I wonder if the alternative here is to simply compile the project (as word doc, pdf, etc)?

Definitely seems like the op is not utilising or grasping the full range of Scrivener’s capabilities, but compiling would result in a single file ...

Re: Thank you developers for all you are doing for a 1 time purchase price!

Scrivener's pricing is a wonder. I use it every day, and much more regularly and consistently than other apps/programmes that have cost me significantly more money and contributed far less to my productivity (and overall happiness)!

Re: How to keep Scratchpad in the background?

In MacScriv the Scratchpad always floats on top (including of other programmes), so I would assume this is intentional behaviour. I personally use the built-in keyboard shortcut to open and dismiss it as needed. I don't have WinScriv 1.9 open at the moment, so can't tell if it's easy to do same there.

Re: Adding a compile wizard that will walk new users through the compile process step-by-step

This discussion seems likely to descend into a back and forth about what the best way for L&L to grow its business is  Let's try to avoid that ! @zeddd, my experience with this company is that it is very willing to listen to its users, and to make changes based on their observations. Cater...
