Re: Need help recovering a mangled project (binder index?)

What Dain said. DO NOT try the above method unless you are FLUENT in XML. AND have made a backup first. There is a (slightly) less hideous method for recovering a mangled project if the "Import as Scrivener Project" approach has failed. I'd have been happier going that route, I simply cou...

[SOLVED] mangled project (binder index?)

Ok, I managed to finally recover things. It wasn't really easy or clean, and I'm sure I didn't do it the way Scrivener's desinger would have. I only stopped at what worked enough to recovery the binder with all of my previously missing scenes. From there I will be able to import (as suggested in thi...

Re: Need help recovering a mangled project (binder index?)

With any projects or partial projects that you find, note that you can use the File -> Import -> Scrivener Project command to tell Scrivener to extract whatever useful metadata it can from the project being imported. Results will of course depend on what you have, but this is likely to give better ...

Re: Need help recovering a mangled project (binder index?)

The project was in the 2.xx format when it was last actively worked. Scrivener wants to update the format and throws several errors about sync conflicts, then this message about content that was deleted... Need help recovering a mangled project (binder index?)

I've had a file causality that has caused some heartache over this year. Short version is that sometime after I put away my NaNo manuscript last year, and this past Feburary when I migrated to a new MBP, several of my projects have suffered from Binder index damage that left those effected projects ...

Feature Request: Additional Transforms (iOS)

The more and more I use iOS, the more and more I find myself wanting a new transform, or some form of customizable transforms. I use (don't hate me) the speed period shortcut in iOS and have since '09. The problem is, that when you put three periods in a row, it transforms to an ellipsis (and that's...

Re: Scrivener on Kindle Fire?

Apple doesn't do what I want it to do. That doesn't make my dislike of it petty. If I can do what I want with another type of device, I'll use that device. Apple devices have never done what I need them to do. When they decide to change their business model, I might give them another look. Unless I...

Re: Quick UI color pallet switch / Glare reduction

I find that turning down the brightness of my Mac helps in the evening, and iOS these days has a mode that changes the tone of the screen in low-light which works well. There's no easy way of doing a palette switch, as that would involve a completely alternative icon set, and there are vast numbers...

Re: Quick UI color pallet switch / Glare reduction

f.lux for iOS requires jailbreaking, so I'm not so sure about using that. A built-in similar feature is found in iOS9.3 and newer, called Night Shift. Night shift is problematic at best because it modifies the system pallet. Its not quite the same as inverting the pallet schema. Its still a bit gla...

Quick UI color pallet switch / Glare reduction

Mostly for iOS but for Mac (and Win too) versions, please consider a easy to find toggle that switches to a secondary color pallet. I mean this mostly for use in low light conditions on my iOS device, but it would be useful on my MacBook Pro as well. Hard code a low-light color pallet if you must, a...

Re: Perma-conflicted project. (one device only)

That seems to have done the trick.

Though, now I'm curious what cruft where might have caused this difficulty.

Perma-conflicted project. (one device only)

I have a shared project as my active work presently. I had last sync on my iPhone about a week ago, and all was fine. I don't normally use my iPhone as I have a iPad that works better (keyboard case). Anyway, yesturday (the 7th), I was at my desk, working on my active project, and paused in my writi...

Re: Please make Undo/Redo Keyboard Shortcuts on iOS Scrivener

I'm not sure if someone has already written about this and if they have, please direct me. Essentially in using Scrivener for iOS with an external keyboard, I can't seem to use the same shortcuts I usually do in Scrivener for MacOS. I understand this is to be expected as not everything can be trans...
