Preferences > Editor > Printed Page Size Uses: gone?

Hi, folks. Just wondering what happened to the above function? Seems to have disappeared. I've combed through the change lists and the manual and can't find reference to it--maybe I'm just missing it. The functionality certainly still seems to exist.

Thanks...

Ed

Re: Contiguous texts with title/text widows/orphans

Got it; thanks.

By the way, great idea to add the highlight link between the structure & content table and the binder. Very helpful.

Contiguous texts with title/text widows/orphans

Goofy subject line, but OK. Maybe I'm missing this, but say I'm setting up a project as follows: http://edditto.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Screen-Shot-2014-07-13-at-12.12.37-PM.jpg If I PDF-compile the level 2 single-texts contiguously without page breaks in between, I'm seeing that as appropria...

Re: 5 free copies of my new e-book formatting guide

Thanks, Druid...I appreciate the plug, there. Did you leave me an Amazon review yet? Please consider it if you haven't.

And $4.99 for a slice? That had better be from a damned good pie...but yeah, I used to live in Boston, where $4.99 wouldn't even buy you a tomato.

All gone, but thanks for the interest. The book's now available from Amazon...see a sample and read reviews at the book's Amazon page: http://tinyurl.com/cnnfhy2

Re: Potential Scrivener/CreateSpace PDF version conflict?

Just a follow-up...this customer is now reporting that after submitting to CreateSpace for their manual review, the online previewer is functioning correctly, showing her PDF with no problems.

Potential Scrivener/CreateSpace PDF version conflict?

I heard from a customer tonight that a PDF she generated in Scrivener for upload to CreateSpace is failing at the automated print check stage. She says the automated print check begins but will never finish, and that later she gets a message that the print check "couldn't be done" without ...

Re: Large Scrivener Mobi Files

Definitely; thanks for that report. Amazon's transmission fees are ridiculous enough as it is without the file size being padded by the very compilation application they want you to use. That'd be like a dentist recommending that you eat sweets before bed every night.

Re: Convert image to text?

Hi, Ioa.

Right, making photo albums was what got me started thinking about the potential uses of the feature. Good workaround with split at selection, though, although it still requires manual image re-sizing if you want to optimize for target print/ebook page size.

Convert image to text?

Another oddball question. Suppose I have a dozen images in my "Research" folder and I'd like to insert each one of them into a stand-alone text in my Manuscript (Plate A, Plate B, and so on.) Right now I have to manually create a dozen texts and insert each image into its corresponding tex...

Re: Print previewing custom size vs. standard?

Hi, folks. Testing the Windows version here, which explains why my platform differs from the subforum I'm posting in. Ioa, I'll try that, thanks... The idea here is to approximate WYSIWYG as much as possible for the purpose of laying out "as-is" pages in the text editor for PDF compilation...

Print previewing custom size vs. standard?

As I construct a PDF for CreateSpace in 6X9 trim size, I'm having to print preview in A4 as an approximation because--unlike in the "Page Settings" pane of the Compile wizard--only standard-size paper is available from the page setup's "Size" drop-down box. Does a page setup and/...

Re: Large Scrivener Mobi Files

Sure thing. My early experiments in the Kindle Previewer make it look like there's no significant difference, but I really need to roll my sleeves up and dig into the differences in table support capability, because I suspect that's where things will get hairy. I'm still convinced that the best way ...

Re: Large Scrivener Mobi Files

First off...thanks for using my book. A couple of things to consider if you haven't: 1) Have you tried comparing your post-compile file size on your local system to the post-upload file size at the KDP? If not, check the bottom of the royalties table in step eight of the KDP book creation process to...

Re: Compound-able image placeholder tag?

Interestingly, it's possible to use placeholder tags in custom meta-data fields. If I: 1) create a custom meta-data field entitled CustomTag 2) fill it in Chapter One with <$img:MyImage> 3) and then use the tag <$custom:CustomTag> in the text of Chapter One Scrivener will replace the custom tag with...
