Re: Не получается скопировать материалы из первого Проекта в новый Проект.

I think I understand what you are saying. You want multiple projects in one, like tabs or files to be present in Scrivener? To do this: 1. When using Scrivener: Window > Merge All Windows 2. Also check: Apple  > System Preferences > Dock > Prefer tabs when opening documents > [Set your personal pre...

This was hilarious! On so many fronts. Students and Teachers and teachers of students who teach teachers. . . "My students are my real teachers " . . . "It's 2045 and we're still here and what you young people are doing, it's amazing!" "There should be a lipstick...

Re: Going to be brutally honest: this software is a hot bloated mess of jank.

@HTenere, I typically stay away from things like this. First: Scrivener isn't the end all be all. It can't be. Does it do way more than I need? Yes. Which is why I have basically all functions hidden except to basically type. Then, in subsequent drafts, I reveal more and use more features. Otherwise...

Re: Changing size of index cards for printing

When I go to print I can select "Pages per Sheet" which lets me choose 2 (printing 6 index cards) on one piece of paper. Do you have this option? Maybe it's just a HP (my printer) option. If your printer allows it: You can also directly print to 3 x 5 or 4 x 6 cards by going into File > Pa...

Hi Thomas,

First off, congrats on being so prolific! (I looked up your writing.) Most won’t reach the amount of work you have out there. And in German, English, and French no less. Awesome!

I would second this. Especially considering the breadth of your work.

Re: Copyholder color

You can also use things in a Quick Reference Panel. QRPs allow you to change the background colors and such via Scrivener -> Preferences -> Appearance -> "Quick Reference" under the colors tab. To make it so it stays put, just "Float the Quick Reference panel" via Window -> Float...

Re: Way to move the comment box?

While I'm not L&L, a long time ago, I created a situation where this happened. Not sure of your version or even if it's possible now, but it was due to preference decisions I made where my colors were the same and overlapped each other. You can check this in Scrivener -> Preferences -> Appearanc...

Re: Keeping Cursor at location

Odd. Mine does take me back to where I was, after about a 2 second delay. Then, I just have to click in and go. Not sure what's wrong. Hopefully someone from L&L can help. But I'm just curious. If you double-click a word where you were before you leave (so it's highlighted) and go and do ...

Deleting comments removes prior associated external or document links

When you create a comment on text that already has a link associated to it, doesn't matter if it's an external link or Link to Document, the moment that comment is deleted the text loses it's prior link association. It becomes just plain text. This happens even if a whole sentence or paragraph is se...

Re: Default to "open in external editor"?

My preference has always been the keyboard shortcut Login recommended. However . . . Sometimes there is just too much stuff. One of my novels ended up having over 15,000 pages of research documents associated to it (various genocide firsthand accounts, maps, anatomy of weapons, power players, trade ...

Re: Comment Colour / Search and Export

I don't know of a way to do that, but it has been something I've needed in the past. The only thing I was able to do to work around it was use Custom Metadata Texts and export them. Admittedly, this is not very practical for detailed level commenting on sentences, words, ideas, etc., but it does wor...

Re: Need help dealing with other files (materials) for a writing project

Use Case #1 Linking External File = Command+K (or Edit -> Add Link, but if you already have a link in the Editor, it will say "Edit Link" even when your cursor is on another section in the page. Not sure if that's a bug.) This will place the link to the PowerPoint file you want, and subseq...
