Re: Scrivener 2.9

Hello, I hope somebody can provide some guidance or suggestions for the following situation: I am running macOS 10.11.6 (El Capitan) with Scrivener 2.8.0 and iOS 10.2.1 with Scrivener 1.1.2. For various reasons I don't want to upgrade to either iOS 11 or macOS High Sierra until next summer. This mea...

Re: Sync questions

Dear Katherine and lunk, I will be traveling and very busy in the next few days, so for now just a short thank you note. Katherine's information on how to find more reliable dates is very useful and promising, thank you! I'll check it out later and report back if needed. And lunk’s optimism and trus...

Re: Sync questions

Dear Katherine and lunk, Here is what happens with Scrivener but not with other apps: Let's say on Sunday Project A is listed as synced on both the Mac and the ipad, both dated Sunday, 8:12 pm. On Monday morning I open my ipad, bring Scrivener to the front, open Project A and edit it. I close the pr...

Re: Sync questions

Dear Katherine and lunk, Thanks for the quick reply! First, to your basic question: What exactly is the issue here? The answer is very simple: confusion and worry. What do I want? Clarification, explanation, and assurance that what I am observing on my machines (and describing to you in my post) is ...

Sync questions

Scrivener sync questions/problems: 1 On my MacBook, in the Finder, the Date Modified date of a Scrivener project I just synced on (from) the iPad does not get updated, not in a few minutes, not in hours, not in days. It only changes when I actually open (and thus automatically sync) the project from...

Re: Migrating from Nisus to Scrivener?

Thanks for the replies! xiamenese No "excess verbiage"! On the contrary! the longer the reply the more fun it is! You say: "If your needs are comparatively simple, you could start by installing the iOS version, learning to use that and export your documents as .rtf to open in Nisus wi...

Re: Migrating from Nisus to Scrivener?

Dear Mark / Xiamenese, Thank you so much for your long and very informative post! The issue is not to have Nisus on the computer or not, rather to find a setup that would allow the "round trips" between Nisus files on the computer and those same files on the iPad in some app -- but which a...

Migrating from Nisus to Scrivener?

I would love to get advice from your collective experience and wisdom. I have used Nisus for many years and have hundreds of files in Nisus (rtf) . However, I am spending most of my time now on my iPad and it looks like Nisus for iOS is not in the works. I am thinking of living without Nisus on my c...

Re: iOS has no distraction-free composition mode?

There appears to be differences between iPad- and iPhoneland. Hi Lunk, I noticed that you are using a Swedish keyboard but that it must be also a special one, presumably a third party keyboard, because it also has a second extra key row, besides the one that comes with Scrivener. May I ask you to t...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

Keith, you are absolutely wonderful! I was planning to apologize and you did first, even though there was no need to do so. To some other posters: please believe me that my suggestions were well-meaning, all I want is iScriv to be as good as possible for all of us. And I am NOT one of those who want...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

Thank you, Keith, for the quick reply. I am *very* happy to hear about the customizable accessory key rows! Just one question though: why eight buttons? The top row of the built-in onscreen keyboard has eleven keys, so it would seem that it should be easy to put eleven extra keys there. (Three more ...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

Thank you Dr Dog for pointing this out. To clarify: I only own the first version of ipad Air, and am still running iOS 8. All my comments and concerns were based on a half hour play with an ipad Pro in an Apple store where all the apps, presumably, were updated for demo. I think I opened Notes, Word...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

I am one of the many many who are extremely happy that Keith took over the programming and brought iScriv to the beta stage (and in record time)! Bravo and thanks! I suspect his love for the iPad Pro may have played a role in this, since it was obvious that he didn't care much for the regular iPad's...

Re: Scrivener and Surface Pro 3

Has anyone tried the Windows version of Scrivener on the new Surface 3 tablet? The machine is supposed to run full Windows 8.1 but I am not sure if this is true when using it as a tablet (without the keyboard cover), relying totally on the touch screen and the screen keyboard. I am particularly conc...
