please restore old dock icon

I continue to use, appreciate and enjoy Scapple. Minor peeve: could you restore the old, yellow dock icon? The new "blackboard" reminds me of an old-fashioned classroom, where I'd be a student sitting in the back row listening to the teacher. Scapple is, though, for most of us a (superior)...

What happens when beta ends?

Dumb Q, but what happens to my existing Scapple files when the beta ends? I'll obviously buy a paid version as soon as it's available, but will it automatically take over my existing files? How will I even know that the product's now on sale? I fear missing the launch, and one day finding all my wor...

Re: direction of arrow

@Juddbert: thanks and yes, I agree that this is a splendid app

@Keith: thanks also and yes, please tweak it if you get the chance but otherwise, just keep on developing these great products

Re: Feature request: draw lines

I appear to be in a minority here: I see lines, shapes and colours, though obviously useful, as the thin end of the wedge for a whole slew of added "features". If you want shapes there are other great products out there such as OmniGraffle. I don't want Scapple to fill the same niche, not ...

Re: direction of arrow

Does this clarify? Yes and no. Please bear with me. I know there are ways to get whichever arrows I want: pointing from A to B, from B to A, or doubleheaded (or just a plain dashed line). My issue, though, is that generating such arrows is inconsistent, depending on whether you're dragging one note ...

Re: Formatting of connecting lines?

I'd prefer to minimise the use of such options - indeed, their increasing use is something I fear from later "updates".

There are other fine products (eg OmniGraffle) which allow you to draw beautiful, customised maps and diagrams, but surely Scapple aims to fill a different niche.

Re: direction of arrow

Thanks, Juddbert. This works - but raises some other, related, issues. The fifth and sixth bullets in the Quick Start guide now work differently. In Bullet 5, Command + dragging note A over note B gives an arrow from A to B, as you've shown me. It's something you do if you're working on A, and you w...

Re: Excellent App - please keep it simple

"Me too" posts are usually frowned on, but I must break the rule to second this point most strongly. So far, Scapple has astonished me with its combination of usefulness and simplicity. I have a ton of applications on my laptop and phone that started out as easy to use, but went on to get ...

Re: Scapple name

I know I'm not going to win this one, and I'm a big fan in spite of the name. Trouble is, when recommending it to others, I can't tell them for sure how it's spelled :-( I can't tell them if it's Scapple or Scappel (perhaps because it's so close to "scalpel", a fairly common word). OK, it'...

direction of arrow

Say you have two notes, A and B. If you hold the option key and drag A on top of B, you get an arrow - but the arrowhead points back to A.

Intuitively, I'd expect the arrow to follow the direction of the drag so that, if you drag A on top of B, the arrow would point from A to B.

Re: automatic note sizing

MM and AmberV: problem solved. I wasn't hitting Escape to end editing. DUMB :-( Sorry about that. (I should certainly read the instructions more closely, but Escape isn't something I'm familiar with from other applications and therefore isn't intuitive; that's my only excuse.) I must say this exchan...

Re: automatic note sizing

Thanks, AmberV. I'm not clear, though, if you need anything more from me other than my original comment that automatic note-sizing wasn't working. (You say "no rush", so it sounds as though you do want something more specific.)

Re: automatic note sizing

Thanks to AmberV and MimeticMouton for your patience. I've now found the prefs file, deleted it and, of course, it comes back when I use Scapple again. Trouble is, my notes are still not automatically sized (and I've made sure that the appropriate box is checked in the Preferences options). Are you ...

Re: automatic note sizing

Sorry about this, AmberV, but I still have a problem. I'm using Mac OS 10.6.8. The "Go" menu in Finder doesn't have a "Library" item (only Computer, Home, Desktop, iDisk, Applications, Documents and Utilities). There's a "Go to Folder..." option which brings up a search...
