Re: Suggested spellings no longer function under Mojave

That painlessly unloads, then reloads, Apple's spell service. (The entire reason I knew that is because I didn't want to have to go through a 2-minute reboot once, so spent 15 minutes googling for workarounds, cause that's how I roll. ) Ha! I get that -- I recently had the bright idea of using Typi...

Re: Suggested spellings no longer function under Mojave

I'll jump in on this with a related issue: my custom spellings (of which there are many, as I have quite a few invented words and names in my fiction projects) were no longer being recognized. Following the discussion above, I checked out my Spelling folder and found the two indicated files, LocalDi...

Re: Share menu in macOS version

Coming back to retract one part of my above statement: the Print Current Document command *does* have access to Share-menu-like options; I just didn't see them because the "Mail PDF" and "Send PDF via Messages" are buried in a longer list of things I never use. Thus a quick Comma...

Re: Share menu in macOS version

The Print Current Document command is what I was referring to when I said "I have to kludge around more by printing as a PDF." The limitations here are that after pulling up the print menu, I must then select Save as PDF, then choose the destination, which will always default to the locati...

Share menu in macOS version

I do 95% of my Scrivener work on my laptop because it has all of the features I need, while the iOS version is fabulous for small edits and re-reads. But the iOS version has a truly awesome feature that I'd love to see ported over to the macOS version: the Share sheet that allows for one-click expor...

Binder width not staying put

I've searched the forum for posts on "binder width" and have not seen any mention of my odd little issue: When I minimize a project (and I tend to have three or four open but not onscreen simultaneously) and then open it up again, the binder develops "wiggle room." Meaning, when ...

Custom separator + blank line before and after

I've searched the forum and can't find this listed, though surely many others want it too: The ability, in the Compile menu, to set a custom separator *that is preceded and followed by a blank line.*

That's all. Otherwise I find Scrivener to be about 99.73% perfect.

Re: NOT a wish: ML color vampire

Thank you for the reassurance, Keith. I read your blog post with a great deal of head nodding, and a couple of "ahas" when something clicked. I had not analyzed precisely WHY I can't find anything in my menus or sidebars anymore, but now that you've put it into words for me, I can say that...

Re: NOT a wish: ML color vampire

Oh thank heavens.

Now I can relax, and try to understand who on earth actually likes that horror of a GUI and would wish to inflict it on Scrivener... [baffled]

NOT a wish: ML color vampire

As someone who has (very, very reluctantly) upgraded from Snow Leopard straight to Mountain Lion and been HORRIFIED at the unworkable, depressing monochrome gray GUI of everything in it, I would just like to say: Please, Keith, please do not follow Apple's lead and allow the color vampire to suck ou...

Re: Find/Replace Invisibles

I am seconding this as a feature request, having run into a very similar issue when compiling for e-books. My issue was with a tiny handful of formatting errors, where for some reason a paragraph did not have a hard return at the end, and the following paragraph was preceded by a tab (rather than th...

Epilogue in ebook?

Old hand at Scrivener here, but very new hand at Scrivener 2...and an even newer one at compiling into ebook formats. Got most of it figured out, but my Prologue and Epilogue have been giving me fits because, if I use the automatic chapter numbering during compile, then they're called Chapter One an...
