One of the best science fiction novels I've read the last few years was Kim Stanley Robinson's "The Years of Rice and Salt." It's an alternate history novel - what if the Black Plague had killed off not one third of Europe, but 90%? How would history - and technology - have developed? What...

Keith, Thank you very much for getting me the license number so quickly! Now I have to stop procrastinating and actually redo my resume and shop it around. Ahh, impending unemployment - you'd think I'd feel more motivated, but I'm just annoyed. The only good thing is this time I'm writing my resume ...

I had to drop my MacBook, only two months old, off to have its fits of narcolepsy cured. I probably won't get it back for about two weeks (if all goes well). In the meantime, my SO made me a gift of an old version of OS X 10.4 to upgrade my old (and I mean OLD) Powerbook, which previously ran OS 9.2...

Thank you both, Jolanth and Keith. I will start the e-mal backup. And the merged document was in the binder, just like Keith said. I don't know why I couldn't find it before. I hadn't intended to create a merged document yet, but now that I have one, I will add my daily NaNo portion to it and try to...

OK, here is my SECOND stupid question of the night. I opened the saved version of my novel on the external hard drive, and have been adding to it. When I save it, I can save it to the external hard drive, the USB drive, or to Documents. How do I save it to the location of the original, lost document...

OK, I just did this without intending to. (Never work on your NaNo novel on an empty stomach, the brain cells are too hungry!) I meant to edit Scrivenings, hit Merge instead, panicked and tried to back out of it, closed Scrivener by accident. When I reopened it, all that was left of my novel was the...

Project Statistics make Scrivener quit!

OK, I apologize if this has been covered before. It's late, I'm tired, and the search feature is giving me everything but the information I need. When I highlight a folder which holds two of my chapters (i.e. documents), and try to use Project Statistics to get a word count, Scrivener quits. How do ...
