Re: Minimum Requirements?

Ahh, thankyou. Should have seen that really, but sadly not. I think I remember reading something about being able to install Sierra with a patch, so I might also look into that. :) Edit: Huh. Looked it up and turns out a late 2009 will run Sierra unpatched after all. So I'm good for version 3, I thi...

Minimum Requirements?

Hi everyone. I've just bought a used Mac online to refurbish and had hoped to eventually use it for all of my creative things, but I'm struggling to find minimum requirements listed anywhere. It's a 2009 21.5" iMac. It has no harddrive currently, but based on what I've read, I believe it can ru...

Laptop crash, files missing/old

Really trying not to panic here. My laptop crashed about half an hour ago and took an age to restart again afterwards. Once back in, I reloaded Scrivener, which itself instantly crashed on me. So I reloaded it again, only to find an old version of my document. So I opened up my backups folder, but t...

Re: Scrivener Won't Open

Apologies for the double post - unable to edit the previous one anymore. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have a Wacom driver installed at all, currently, so there shouldn't be a clash there. I thought I'd used it on my current laptop before, but apparently not. On the plus side, the recently released...

Re: Scrivener Won't Open

I do have a Wacom tablet. I'll give it go, thankyou. I hope there's no issues with recent drivers though, because we really shouldn't have to remove one paid for product in order to use another.

Re: Scrivener Won't Open

Why should we have to pay a second time for functioning software when they can't or won't fix the software we already paid for? You pay for the software when you buy it and you buy it in its current status at the time of purchase. You at the time also had time to evaluate it during a month to make ...

Re: Scrivener Won't Open

I have emailed them a few times and still no resolution. It's now been two years since it first started happening. They reassigned the person originally looking at it, or they left or something and they forgot to put someone else on it, so it was forgotten for months. But now they've been reminded, ...

Re: Scrivener stopped working...

There is an ongoing bug of about two years which they seem to be largely ignoring. I haven't been able to update since then.

Re: Application hangs on the first run

Mind if I ask which version you installed? I've had a hanging issue for over a year, but however long I left it, it never loaded. Not sure it's been left that long, though. The Sims sometimes hangs like that if a corrupted item is installed. I wonder if there's an isue with files being corrupted som...

Re: The problem with "QSettings: RegEnumValue failed" is not fonts

I've seen quite a lot of people mention the issue, actually. And few or not, we're still paying customers. If security holes ever need plugging, we're kind of screwed. It's not like we're all just sitting here waiting, either. I've tried every potential method I've seen, plus everything else I can t...

Honestly, at this point, I can only conclude that the company just doesn't care.

Re: newest windows update doesn't work

Interesting. I've had the same not-loading issue for... wow. Two years and eight days, now. And as far as I can tell, this was the first attempt at a patch? I'm glad some of you got a quick response and a resolution, but I'd still quite like to know why a thread back then with even more people in it...

I'm glad the fix seems to have worked for some people. Mine still won't open when fully updated.

There was also meant to be a supposed fix for the entire-program-not-opening bug, but no luck with that, either. :(

Re: Why the Update

And as far as 1.9.8 goes: There is a lengthy thread on this forum--I can't be bothered to find it for you--where a whole bunch of Windows users describe how they cannot use 1.9.7 due to some obscure font issue, which keeps Scrivener from even loading. Apparently 1.9.8 contains a fix for that. The f...
