Re: Regretting installing Ubuntu 11.10

Rithe, your Qt libs problem seems a lot like mine ( http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=15145 ). Something in my Arch and Mandriva KDE setups seems to want libQtDBus (consistent with edf's hunch), which is not included in the Scrivener tarball, so it goes to my system Qt...

Re: Which Linux distro do you use for Scrivener?

Mandriva and Arch. Frustratingly, I get errors relating to conflicting Qt libraries when I try to run Scrivener under KDE4 in these distros, though. Kubuntu doesn't have that problem (I installed it just to test that!).

Re: Incompatible Qt libraries - under KDE but not xfce

Well, I learned something but didn't get myself up and running. :? Found an rpm for qt 4.7.2 (couldn't find a package for Arch or Mandriva; I think this was for Scientific Linux) and extracted libQtDBus.so.4.7.2 from there using rpm2cpio and cpio. Put it into the /usr/local/LiteratureAndLatte/lib di...

Re: Cannot mix incompatible Qt library [...] with this library

Progress! In Mandriva, if I log on using xfce instead of KDE, Scrivener runs! I updated to the 0.35 beta today too, but it doesn't run under my KDE so it wasn't the Scrivener update that changed the situation. I'd read a thread by user ZelaoN on the PCLinuxOS forum ( http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/i...

Re: LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 035 RELEASED

Looks great so far -- I'm a few pages into the tutorial. :D I know it's not supported but I installed Windows in a virtual machine just to give this a try, since I can't get the Linux version working. This is very cool work. Unlikely I'll get up to speed in time to help much with bugs, but you never...

Incompatible Qt libraries - libQtDBus - under KDE

Hi all, I have already put down my experiences in another thread ( http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=15007 ) but it occurs to me that by carrying on in that thread I may have made it hard for people with the same problem I'm having to find it -- the problem being that ...

Re: undefined symbol: _ZN11QWebArchive16staticMetaObjectE

OK, well, believe it or not, I installed Kubuntu on an old hard drive, and Scrivener works just fine.

Re: undefined symbol: _ZN11QWebArchive16staticMetaObjectE

Thanks, edf. I'm getting the same thing as before, I'm afraid. I'd wiped and reinstalled the /usr/local/LiteratureAndLatte directory before, so I could use tar from the terminal instead of Ark to extract (so I'd have followed the wiki verbatim). I tried one more time today anyway (complete with fres...

Re: undefined symbol: _ZN11QWebArchive16staticMetaObjectE

Oh well. Under Arch:

Code: Select all

[chris@oblio bin]$ ./scrivener.sh
Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x40704) with this library (version 0x40702)
./scrivener.sh: line 4:  1947 Aborted                 /usr/local/LiteratureAndLatte/bin/Scrivener

Re: undefined symbol: _ZN11QWebArchive16staticMetaObjectE

Thanks, amurray. I tried your script but it doesn't seem to change the issue. [chris@Oblio bin]$ scrivener.sh Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x40603) with this library (version 0x40702) /usr/local/LiteratureAndLatte/bin/scrivener.sh: line 4: 10799 Aborted /usr/local/LiteratureAndLatte/b...

Re: undefined symbol: _ZN11QWebArchive16staticMetaObjectE

Aha! Thanks, edf, amurray, and garpu. I knew it was something to do with libs that I should be able to work out for myself. I wasn't getting anywhere though, in the time and attention span I currently have (I'll use the "new baby" excuse since I have it at the moment...have to come up with...

Re: undefined symbol: _ZN11QWebArchive16staticMetaObjectE

Hi everyone. I have the same error on Mandriva 2010.1 and on up-to-date Arch.
