Re: Tips on using Word Frequency?

Or any tips on using word frequency at all? I find that there's so much noise (the frequency of articles, prepositions, etc) that I haven't found it useful. So any usage scenarios would be handy.

Re: Full Screen - Jumps in text

I get a cursor jump, too, but it's only when I open a project that resumes my writing in a scrivenings. Then I type about a half dozen characters before it jumps to the beginning of the last document in the scrivenings. Obviously this isn't a horrible bug, but it catches me often enough to be annoy...

Quitting 2 projects only quits one

If I have multiple projects open in tabs, often when I quit Scrivener, it only closes one of the projects, instead of closing all of them and quitting Scrivener.

I think this behavior only started once I upgraded from Sierra to High Sierra.

Re: Locking Documents

I, too, have often wished there was a way to lock edits. I'm a novelist, and often I have sections that are finished yet wish to consult in the split view without inadvertently editing them.

Re: Cursor jumps after opening Scriv 3

It's unlikely, because the cursor jumps pages down, down to a place that's far, far offscreen, and I have to scroll back and search to find where I was.

Cursor jumps after opening Scriv 3

On opening Scrivener 3, which automatically loads my three last-opened projects into tabs, I begin typing into a multiple selection opened as scrivenings. I can type about a half dozen characters before the cursor jumps to the title of the final document in the scrivenings. Of course, I lose my trai...

Re: Bookmarks glitch

I had the same issue with my project bookmarks changing into squares (maybe rectangles) with question marks in them. It happened one day when I opened Scrivener with the project bookmarks pane open. I closed and re-opened Scrivener, and they were still question marks. I fixed it by following RDale's...

Re: Style shortcuts (i.e opt-cmd-1) supersede ctrl-opt-cmd-1 in Scriv 3

Hi Keith, I could never get ctrl-opt-cmd-1 (or any ctrl-opt-cmd-number) to work for the highlighters, although they did appear in the menus. (And I do have Scriv 2 still installed.) In Scriv 3, ctrl-opt-cmd-1 would always implement the opt-cmd-1 (or opt-cmd-number) shortcut for formatting. I finally...

Style shortcuts (i.e opt-cmd-1) supersede ctrl-opt-cmd-1 in Scriv 3

Hi, I'm trying to establish personalized Scrivener 3 shortcuts through the Keyboard tab of System Preferences (as I did in Scrivener 2), but when I use the shortcuts I have defined as ctrl-opt-cmd-1, ctrl-opt-cmd-2, etc (for changing the highlight color), the style shortcuts of Scrivener 3, which ar...

Re: Making Text Files read-only?

Thanks for the suggestions! I've used snapshots, but I don't like the fact that there's no easy way to see that I haven't (in my clumsy copying) carelessly added a C or other stray character somewhere in the text. The pdf idea, albeit inelegant, should work well. Thanks again.

Making Text Files read-only?

Is it possible to make text documents read-only? I have documents in my project I'd like to consult/copy from without the chance of modifying them. Everything I have wanted in novel-writing software is already implemented in Scrivener, so I'm sure it's in there somewhere, but I can seem to find it...

Re: Scrivener freezes on launch

FWIW, I had this same problem. It seems to be related to the auto-update or something, because if I disconnect my network cable, Scrivener boots without difficulty.
